I worked and was friends with one Bill Gould at the Florida Tile factory in Lawrenceburg, just down the road from Frankfort. Bill invited me up to Frankfort one day to visit with him at his office where he worked with Drew on a local internet access business. This was late 1990's, I think (Drew?). I mentioned in an email to Drew years ago that Mr. Gould was not happy with Drew and felt he had been 'cheated' some way as the business took off and FARK developed. Do you know if Bill is still alive, Drew? Anyways, I suppose in some way(s) Frankfort could be considered one of the birthplaces of FARK.

Wish I could be stumbling home with you and all y'all. But yeah, I am in the land of Dayton for a while dealing with unpleasant family stuff. Once this is done, I will need a night of stumbling home.

Have fun y'all! Esp GMD - he should be getting an award for being awesomesauce dude of the year.

A Terrible Human: Screw Frankfort! Come to Corbin or Somerset,Drew. :D

Too bad Somerset is in a dry county.

2014-06-27 07:29:06 AM
Oops, I may have farked up:  Pulaski County is a "moist" county as defined by The Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. The County features two "Small Farm Wineries" that sell wine to the public. The City of Somerset voted on June 26, 2012 to go fully "wet" which means alcoholic beverages can be purchased by the package and restaurants and bars can serve alcoholic beverages by the drink. On October 15, 2013 the City of Burnside voted to go fully "wet" by a count of 123-39. All other areas of Pulaski County are "Dry".

Last time I was there it was dry.  2005 or so. Sorry.

Sounds like what's happening in Frankfort--we have the same thing.

I know this isn't the thread for it.. But I am not sure what you mean by fake jousting... Aside from the hardcore Euro dudes that do it with weighted hardwood lances... and those guys lose (as in fatally lose) about one guy (or gal) a year.

I know a few jousters... some I know well. They get bloodied regularly and there is nothing fake about it. Is the lance "soft wood that explodes nicely for spectators"? .. yes.. Can it still kill you ? Yup.

Ask the guy from the Michigan faire who had his testicles stapled THROUGH his saddle due to a errant 7" long 1" thick hunk of an exploding lance.

/Just saying...

It was pretty fake at the PA Ren Faire, they'd go galloping toward each other at a not very fast pace, and there were times nobody's lance hit anybody yet one of the knights would fall off their horse. Just FYI.

I plan on being there. And just to complete the Justified reference, that would be the Dixie Mafia.
