That sort of thing happens when you're hitting .150, unless you're a pitcher.

That hit improved his batting average to .150 in 26 games for the Diamondbacks

You mean this batting powerhouse has been unjustly demoted while Yasiel Puig is allowed to flip bats like he owns the place with impunity? Diamondbacks fans are right, MLB is truly the most unjust place in the entire universe.

Yet Dan Uggla and BJ Upton still remain on the Brave's roster...

Can we demote the whole pitching staff?

/Maybe keep Miley and Collmenter.
//And Ziegler

And earn $26.45MM combined this year.

I don't even get why the Braves haven't just waived Uggla. They have enough replacement 2B and it's not like Uggla is still a "power threat" as a PH off the bench. At least Upton provides defense.

Not that anybody would care, but I would think that Reno's ballpark, at 4300 feet, would ruin these guys forever.

It's an outrage, it really is. I say we brain Greinke again for good measure.

Hey, I'm from Seattle and we would be HAPPY to take an Upton off your hands.

I guess he should've dove into first to show how gritty he is.

On another sorta of related note, Arizona just designated JJ Putz for assignment.....maybe Zdruinkadhseiasusais might be dumb enough to sign him again.

I'd think the Braves would happily trade BJ Upton for a non-prospect minor leaguer and as much salary relief as you care to include.

This is a guy who has hit .194/.272/.309 in 734 plate appearances in Atlanta, and is owed about $53MM from now through 2017. His contact rates are decreasing and swinging strike rates are at an all-time high. He's worth about replacement-value solely because of his defense.

The man's 5'8" and white. How much grittier do you want him to be?

I see he also spent his childhood battling cancer, so now I kind of feel like a dick. Anyone who goes through 10 years of chemo has Eckstein levels of grittyness.

Hey, that's a question for Gibson & Towers. But I'm pretty sure the answer involves a percentage larger than 100.

Did he beat it by rubbing a little dirt on it?

Apparently the subby thinks it's asinine to send a .150 hitter back to Triple A.

Probably could've waited a day couldn't they? :P Was there a big road trip coming up or some other deadline that they couldn't avoid the bad press with the fans about it by waiting? =P

Their whole season has been bad press.....14 games out, sitting behind the Padres and Rockies in the NL West cellar.
