Box office blockbuster, no doubt

Surely the third installment will more than make up for the tens of millions lost by the first two.

From a narrative standpoint: pants-on-head stupid way to shock your audience out of the story (such as it is)
From a marketing standpoint: pretty smart, since all their fanboys will cash in all their Marlboro Miles to get the Laserdisc

I would say he's been doing a great acting job the past 30 years or so pretending to be a "liberarian" when he's really a confedralist at heart.  All the "cool" things he says about legalizing weed or whatever only apply to the federal government.  RON PAUL would let states and local governments be as fascist as they wanna be.

Do Marlboro Miles count as a fiat currency?

Wrong movie.  You're thinking of the ones with Noah Wyle and Bob Newhart.

Ron Paul started his career railing against forced busing. That's really all you need to know.

I can't wait for the exciting 2 hour Galt Speech.  It's going to be more awesome than Segal's ending speech from "On Deadly Ground".

I thought I remembered reading a while back that the goal of the 3rd installment is to make it more mainstream. I'm not sure how having Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Ron Paul in it will do that.

Film trivia: is there any other trilogy out there that has changed the entire cast for each installment (to play the same roles)?

Technically, the third one was a reboot of the series, so I don't think it should count.

Actually, I think just because RON PAUL is in it, Paultards will probably give it a bit of a boost in the box office.

So since the first two movies sucked, they feel the way to put asses in the seats for the third one is to hire a team of ringers? Fark acting talent, as long as they got names, I guess.

As soon as I posted that I realized that.

And I'm not that up on my vintage pron, but I believe there were 3 Debbie movies with a different actress.

What I don't get about the story is why would society go to buy all this "super steel" to make thousand of mile of railroad, complain about liberals sabotaging their "grand plan" when they could just make airplanes with it; much cheaper and much more efficient .

They had some really top notch talent lined up for the first two, but then they went Galt. The depth of the suckitude of parts 1 and 2 is only more evidence of Ayn Rand's genius!

You naive little statist.  All we needed to do was pray to the Holy Ghost of Adam Smith, and the Invisible Hand of the Free Market would have desegregated all of those schools without the need for any evil government intervention.

Ron Paul is that crazy uncle that sometimes has good advice, but then says something completely bat shiat in the next sentence.

Then you remember why he doesn't get invited to the family functions as much.

I literally just spent the week with that crazy uncle, from my wife's side.

Dude wears all kinds of "support the troops" paraphernalia, will tell you all kinds of crazy Vietnam war stories, about his time as a paratrooper, all his trips around the world with the military, about the time he met the Emperor of Japan, how he had a military escort for years and how the NSA is monitoring him because of his military record

Funny thing is, dude was never in the military.

Charlie Pierce at the Esquire Politics Blog has what he calls the "Five Minute Rule" for Ron Paul (and really, Libertarians in general): If you listen to them for less than five minutes, they seem reasonable, and might even have some good ideas. But at 5:01, something comes out of their mouths that leads you to realize they shouldn't be put in charge of anything bigger than a lunch order for the office (and even that's pushing it).

Producers have timed all three of the movies for maximum political effect. Atlas Shrugged: Part I opened April 15, 2011 (Tax Day), and Atlas Shrugged II: The Strike opened Oct. 12, 2012, a month prior to a presidential election.

Good strategy.

Part I grossed $4.6 million while Part II grossed $3 million in theaters.

"maximum political effect"

$7.6 million GROSS for two films. LULZ!

Good luck on the filming in North Korea. If it's anything like the first two, they could show it to prisoners and knock two years off their sentences -- except in cases of voter fraud.

Atlas Shrugged, which tells the story of a U.S. economy in collapse due to taxation, overregulation and the demonization of those who have achieved more than their fair share of success.

Funny.  One could argue that the US economy collapsed due to the complete opposite: undertaxation (whilst running 2 wars, record deficits, expanding budgets - NSA NSA NSA!!), underregulation ("let's get rid of the Net Capital Rule and let banks up their leverage from a debt to capital ratio of 3:1 to 30:1, subprime mortgages? great idea, let's let everyone do that shiat) and try as they might to demonize people like Mitt Romney, Sheldon Adelson and Lloyd Blankfein who have made a mint, dodged their true tax bill and screwed over the little guy, half the population still holds them as heroes.
