Really? I understood that perfectly without the explanation.   Is there anyone out there that assumed there is/was a production Simpson Bronco available to buy?

I dunno, if OJ had been on the back of a horse riding down the freeway, it would have been way more memorable.

Did he admit driving while talking on a cell phone? Unclear if he or the cameraman was driving, but I assume the cameraman would be a passenger so he could shoot video.

Wow, it actually IS Ric Romero... I'm so used to the meme that I didn't realize the dude really still did news coverage...

Just read the OJ book this week, since everything was back in the news. Talk about a disappointing piece of shiat. 150 pages of backstory and buildup, a page and a half of the actual murders and hauling ass back home, and then another 150 pages of talking about the next few days. For those who didn't read the book, his explanation is as follows:

He went to Nicole's place with some dude named "Charlie" he'd met while out drinking in the past. Charlie had told him that Nicole's supposed drug use was getting bad.

When he got out at her pad, he put on a dark sweatshirt and his stocking cap.

He showed "Charlie" a knife he had in the Bronco that was supposedly just to scare people.

He encountered Goldman on the sidewalk and started yelling at him, Charlie showed up with the knife because he saw someone follow OJ into the side yard.

Nicole came outside.

"Next thing OJ knows, he's covered in blood, the two bodies are laying on the sidewalk, and he's holding a bloody knife."

That's it, that's his entire "defense". 'I didn't kill them, but in a blackout state, someone else must have, and somehow I ended up with the knife, and covered in blood.'. 12 years or so, and that is ALL that he could come up with. "I blacked out, and the stabby gnome came a-visitin'".

Jesus, he even admitted to walking through the blood and trying to dispose of the bloody clothes.

I still think the prosecution farked up the case, and any competent lawyer and an honest jury should have ended up with the 'not guilty' verdict that was delivered, but he really DID do it, and he really DID admit it in his "book".

As a writer, he sucks, and there is no "IF" involved in If I Did It.He did it, and flat out admits it. I was expecting a book of a detailed scenario, maybe a couple of different endings like they did when they made Clue. Instead it's a description of their relationship and how it just 'seems' like he did it.

Normally, I'd wonder what this had to do with anything, but that is flat out the weirdest bit of OJ trivia I've ever heard, and it fits perfectly with the whole circus that it became. Good find.

The second weirdest thing (now that I've seen  punkrock2000's link) is how many women tried to use the trial to create or bolster their own fame by saying that they banged OJ.  Sadly, it ruined Tawny Kitaen's career.

I read another book (can't recall the name) that stated the 'Charlie" was, in fact, OJ's son, that the son did it, that what followed was OJ's attempt to keep the son out of trouble.

Not sure I can buy that one, but one of the Simpsons did it. Fo shizzle.

It was a chase? AFAIR, it was a long drive at about the same speed as the rest of traffic, followed by no police cars,

And it introduced America to pointless helicopter-following-suspect videos that broke into regular programming. Your episode of All My Children will return in a few moments, hopefully after a high-speed chase followed by a shirtless guy getting tackled, live on air.

I take issue with this whole "slow speed chase" thing, since it implies that he was doing like 10 mph, when AC was really just driving at traffic speeds.

Regardless, there were plenty of cop cars...

FirstNationalBastard: I dunno, if OJ had been on the back of a horse riding down the freeway, it would have been way more memorable.

How could it possibly be WAY MORE memorable?!
It's already ingrained in pop culture as one of the most absurd things that ever happened on live TV.  There is no level on which it would be even MORE memorable.

That being said...  I wonder if OJ is watching all of the media joking about this, after all this time, from his jail cell.

All those years of blows to the head have really done him in, speaking in odd terms and with bizarre logic.

Well, okay, it could be more absurd, in as far as it relates to people who shot the footage.

It was reported this morning on the Preston and Steve Show (WMMR, Phila), that 2 of the helicopter pilots who were covering the event, BOTH had sex change operations recently, and are now women.

That's pretty wild.

From the news van, I was so close I could see a silhouette of O.J. inside the white Ford Bronco, and, at one point, he appeared to point a gun to his head.

Funny thing is, apparently this movie came out BEFORE the OJ chase(I get a kick out of this movie, I may be the only one)...

Kinda like how The Lone Gunman was eerily prescient about 9/11.

I was in Navy boot camp at the time, and I happened to be on Quarterdeck watch. I heard the guy yell "Watch, COME HERE!" and  thought, "Oh great...."
I went in expecting to do push ups or something, but he points to the TV and says "Check this out! That's OJ Simpson! He just murdered someone!"
That guy, who was usually a dick, let me stand there the rest of my watch and watch the TV with him.

THEN I had to do push ups.

Every once in a while I'll be channel flipping and he'll pop up doing a segment on the Channel 7 news.  A lot of the time he's just reporting on normal stuff, but yeah, his "investigative" reputation is really well deserved.  I get the impression he appeals to the market segment that still buys newspapers and writes paper checks at the gas station.

The fun thing is, he knows he's an internet meme and occasionally jokes about it.  So at least he's got a sense of humor.

I really give people extra points when they can laugh at themselves, to me it's an important trait. It goes up near the top of my list alongside the types of performers who actually look like they're enjoying their life up on stage. Good for Ric.

very good turn for a charity toy drive he is associated with.

They would've been much more efficient if they carpooled and used maybe just 4-5 cars.  I recall far more officers involved in the chase than the photo shows, so I guess 4 or 5 cars would hold them all.
