Nevertheless Dorit, it is my child, and through extensive research, I choose to not vaccinate my children! No court ruling or intimidation would ever force me to change my position. You are a policy maker and a faithful servant to the pharmaceutical industry. Your policy making and one sided agenda does not serve disease free life. There is to much wrong with the vaccine industry to ever take your words with anything other than a grain of salt. Health freedom and Constitutional protections afforded the parents will not be usurped or coerced into doing something unconscionable such as injecting any living thing with foreign DNA , human diploid derived from aborted baby's, heavy metals, poly sorbate, mouse brain DNA, formaldehyde, ALUMINIUM, thimerasol and bovine cocktails along with antifreeze. To the informed person who can think and reason, your claims are not credible although you come out speaking with a false sense of authority.

I don't think free speech means what she thinks it means.

When someone says they have done "extensive research", I've found that asking them what journal their research has been published in typically either gets them to go WHARGARBLing mad, or makes them point out they just read something on the internet.

Because the University of Google makes you more qualified to talk about vaccines than Doctors, Scientists, and health scholars.

So the Supreme Court basically ruled 100 years ago that you must allow people exemptions on religious, personal-belief kinds of grounds. So that's sort of been basically adjudicated a long time ago, is my understanding. There are also rare instances where you shouldn't vaccinate. For example, [if] you've had a severe allergic reaction to a vaccine, you shouldn't get more doses of that vaccine.

Sometimes it just amazes me. There are millions of people living illegally in California. I'm pretty sure before they crossed the border they made sure their families' vaccination schedules were up-to-date.

Doctor, millions of people come to this country from places that have little or no health care. They come here sick, they live in the fringes of society and don't get the health care they need here. Couple that with poverty and lack of care among the lower classes of citizens in this country and you have the perfect incubator for anything from pertussis to polio.

Is it too soon to propose a "final solution" to vaccine denialists?  We can just quarantine them in camps.  The death part of the camps will take care of itself, thanks to their attitudes.

The anti-vaccination nutjobs are proof that stupidity knows no political party. True, Republicans have made stupidity one of their bedrock principles, but the "natural" mommy (and some father) dipshiats are just as idiotic.

If only there were something we could do, like, pass a law or change an existing law to make clear that children who aren't vaccinated can't enroll in public school ... it wouldn't solve the whole problem but it'd be a start.

My kid can't have the pertussis vaccine because she had seizures as a baby, and there is a minute, slight, miniscule chance the vaccine could bring on a seizure, if the moon lines up with the earth just right and a unicorn flys by.  So, I'm pretty sure if they won't let her have a vaccine for that slight chance, if vaccines really carried a substantial risk of harm, no one would have them.  That said, if she gets pertussis because some random granola hippie earth mother won't vaccinate her children, I'm going after someone with a bat.  Herd immunity people.  It's an important thing.

I literally could not believe there was an outbreak of this in Illinois. I thought my Doc was kidding. So, I joked back, "Nah, lets skip it... I'm afraid of getting 'the Autism'..."

He looked at me skeptically.

"Yes, that's right. An adult is afraid of getting a neural developmental disorder..." He laughed... And then I realized what kind of people he's been dealing with around here.  (Of course I got the damned shot.)

Check out the WHO data on Mexico's vaccination rates and even some of the nations in Central America- they're as high or higher than the areas of this country where the anti-vaxers are concentrated.  If we're discussing tropical diseases or small outbreaks of diseases that are endemic in another part of the world because they have a zoonotic phase that relies on animals not native to the US or North America- yes, for those diseases we can blame immigrants, but we also have to blame US travelers to those areas as well which puts a big dent in your nativist narrative.  Case in point- the only cases of MARS in the US were US citizens and permanent residents who had traveled to the middle east to work in health care there,

I had some moran tell me that pharmaceutical companies made a ton of profit on the swine flu vaccine. They sold $4.3 billion worth. The funny thing? They sold 600 million of them. So they sold for $7.17 each. That is not profit, that is sale price, on a vaccine they worked extra overtime to produce (so higher R&D cost).

Anti vaxxers are farking idiots who can't be reasoned with. If I ever catch whooping cough, I am suing every anti-vaxxer I can find
