Young Henry looks as if skeptical of number of things.  Handsome young feller, must say.
Didn't snatch foto but -- evening news here ran tale of young shepherd mix pulled out of 40 ft deep incinerator shaft. Luckily not hurt much, if not claimed will be put up for adoption at near-downtown SPCA here.  May be foto in paper tomorrow.

Yep, both of them have feline dwarfism. And in addition to that Lil Bub has a rare bone disorder called osteopetrosis for which she takes medication & receives treatment (reiki & Assis Loop). Bub is also a polydactyly cat (all 4 paws) which makes her walk in an odd manner.

Poor baby looks frightened.

I remember how we had to take our mattresses/box springs off their frames and put them on the floor to keep Tilly from being hiding from us. She was so scared and it took nearly a year before she trusted us enough that she'd let us pick her up without fighting, and nearly two years before she'd get in my son's lap on her own.

The previous people abandoned her when they moved out and the landlord found her nearly two weeks later. She survived by drinking water from the toilet and was very thin when she first arrived at Greenhill Humane Society.

Yeah...she was feral. The lovely man that I got her from takes in strays and whatnot...gets them doctored up, fixed, etc. and finds home for them. 7 months after Josie passed, I told him that I was ready for another kitteh, and he picked her for me. He said "I have one for you to look at...she's really quiet, and has a sweet face." At lunch time, I went over to his place and he had her in a kennel on his back porch. I coaxed her over to me, and she purred, and rubbed my fingers. I was sold! Got off work early so I could go get her, and bring her home!!

Happy Caturday!  Jasper, new kitten as of January, is only 11 months old and is suffering from "resorption" which means his gums are eating his teeth.  He's getting half his teeth pulled next week before his first birthday, and that makes me a little sad.  The vet swears cats don't need teeth to live, but I'm a bit pissed off about it.  Jasper was a feral rescue kitten, and apparently this happens sometimes.

Here he is assuming the position for sleep last night, and it kills me because he's going to be miserable on Tuesday, but the vet assures me he will be better in the long run.  Still, so long, Jasper teeth:

He is such a sweet, sweet kitten.  He'll insist on butt rubbing the Kindle if I'm reading, but after he takes his spot right under my armpit to sleep.  He may never forgive me after next Tuesday.

I've never heard of that. I'm sure it will take him some time to adjust, but he'll be fine. I used to have a cat that lost all it's teeth (naturally, I guess) but was very healthy and ate like a horse! I'm sure your vet will help you through it, and give meds for the kitteh! He's a mini Maine Coon, personality, voice, markings, tufts, head butts, everything, but just small.  And TONS of personality.  Gets along great with Jack too.  Panda's a little more aloof, gives him a half hearted deep growl if she spots him get too close... As my old mum used to say, that's a face that'd get a sandwich at anyone's door.

I think you're right about the plotting though - Griffin is obviously a false name, have you checked if he's got a Bolivian passport tucked away behind the litter box?

Scooter had to have teeth removed... also a feral... a while back I thought he was having seizures, as he would yelp and then drool heavily... didn't lose his motor skills, so I figured a toothache.. my vet confirmed it and did the dental work.. doesn't seem to bother him....

Lsherm: Happy Caturday!

We actually have several cats at the rescue that had most of their teeth pulled for stomatitis. Doesn't phase them one bit :)

Also that,s why cats don't eat the tail... toothpick !

My first cat would leave mouse faces on the front mat. MOUSE FACES!
Do you know how small a mouse face is? What kind of nibbly perfection is required to remove a mouse face??

I've never heard of that. I'm sure it will take him some time to adjust, but he'll be fine. I used to have a cat that lost all it's teeth (naturally, I guess) but was very healthy and ate like a horse! I'm sure your vet will help you through it, and give meds for the kitteh! Give him extra skritches from me!

I never had, either. It's even rarer in young cats, but a barn cat can have viral infections that cause it before they are adopted, and there's nothing you can do about it.  The vet was more worried about me putting him down than taking out the teeth.  Obviously, I'm not putting him down.  But we've been doing everything under the sun to try and keep his teeth (I "brush" his teeth with a solution once a day with a Q-tip) and it hasn't helped.  His gums are literally attacking his teeth.  It's like feline HIV but only for teeth.  I'm not happy about the solution, but if he pulls through then he's just a toothless kitten with a good 13-14 years ahead of him.

We'll watch "How to Train Your Dragon" together and I'll make inappropriate jokes he won't understand.

And for those of you not reading late last week, we got a call to foster a couple of mommaless kittens.  Well, they are still in quarentine here, and on some meds for potential gastro-beasties, so it'll be at least the end of the weekend before they are okay to mingle with the lot in the rest of the house.
They are about 5 weeks but a little small for 5 weeks, and really messy eaters! (that's food all over both of their noses)
not sure it'll stick, but we've been calling them Calvin and Hobbes...

Regret to hear of all the feline dental woes -- new CatWatch  cover tale was about better dental care needed.  CatWatch  is by Cornell vet school, Catnip by vet school at Tufts in/near Boston.  Younger niece, spouse & son coming up on 1 yr are at Cornell but not in vet school, elder niece got her master's at Tufts.
Evening shows tomorrow & Sat for Harmony Festival; directions were generally lacking, so I needed provide. SoundEffects which sings tomorrow needs go somewhere thoroughly odd, far away from everything else.  Just sent out better map & directions for them, who need not park same place as Sat mob.  Have only room name & number, & which bldg it's in; Sat is rather easier. Other thing re tomorrow's performance, is I never really heard what desired outfit is.  Heard only "black & white".  Take black & white longsleeve shirt, both black & white trews & shoes, unless someone tells me before time to leave.
Owners were ticked by time we got home today; they missed lunch.  Plumbicon forgot he had Harmony Lodge Board mtg at 11AM; new treasurer rang him up shortly after 11 & asked where the heck he was.
If able to find pic I wish, this came from HSUS on a beg-velope recently.

Bathia_Mapes: Lil Bub & Grumpy Cat together on Caturday is truly the best of both worlds :-)

Hello everyboddeee!
 ^-^
='.'=

It looked as though Lil Bub was more curious about Tardar Sauce (aka 'Grumpy Cat'), the way LB was following GC around.
Poor kitties, it hurt me to watch them walk.

They both have...how does one put this...irregularities with their facial expressions as well.
I wonder how difficult that makes it for the 'getting to know you' process?

They're both acclimated to what most cats would find overwhelming amounts of stimulus, so that should help a bit...

Young Henry is skeptical of Caturday.

Young Henry looks like his plotting to take over the world..  probably in cahoots with the new boy here.
He told my daughter his name is Griffin..  I think he was lying for giggles.
- Griffin is obviously a false name, have you checked if he's got a Bolivian passport tucked away behind the litter box?

Could the spelling be Gryphon?

Because it does look as though there is a wing-ged (not just winged, but wing-GED) spirit under the fur...

syzygy whizz: Bathia_Mapes: Lil Bub & Grumpy Cat together on Caturday is truly the best of both worlds :-)

Seemed that Lil Bub was into play mode... Tarder, not so much..... much more reserved.....

Worse, only get the posted message, no thread even, without a click from there...

What she would like to do is go back to where she was responding from (to see the rest of the comments new in the same refresh), not to the top of the page or the other way down to the first new one since her last refresh.  There is no way to do that.  It'd be a neat option for busy threads, but I'm not sure how many would use it if it was available.

Most other cats don't like Bub for some reason, Bub's Dude already had 4 cats before he got Bub as a tiny kitten and ended up housing them in his recording studio near where he lives. He takes good care of them too, but it would be nice if they got along with Bub so they could all live together.

And according to Bub's Dude she's a really good traveler. Apparently the vibrations from being in a plane or car are actually beneficial to her condition (osteopetrosis). The vibrations help break down the osteoclasts (a type of bone cell) which results in increased mobility for Bub.

Lsherm: Happy Caturday!

Awww, poor sweetie! I am sure he will forgive you and the vet.

Sky King!

CSB time...
My grandfather (mom's dad) used to own the airport in Brownsburg, IN.
My uncle (mom's brother) had his pilots license and ended up being the Great Lakes factory rep for Cessna out of Rockford, IL.
As the factory rep, he had a stable of Cessna aircraft at his disposal for demonstration purposes.
One year, over spring vacation, we went up to visit him and he took us kids to the airport and took each of us up for rides.
(Between my grandfather and my uncle, I've flown since I was about 3 years old.)
This time, my uncle had one of those newfangled Polaroid cameras that produced (B&W) pictures in a minute.
Of course, you had to use this smelly squeegee thing to "finish the picture" and prevent it from over-developing.

He took a shot of me half standing on the wing/in the cabin of a Cessna 310, just like Sky King's!
It had the same paint job and everything!

I brought it back with me and took it to school for Show & Tell.
Geez-O-Pete!
All the other guys wished they were me, and all the girls wanted to touch me because I had been in a plane like Sky Kings!!!

Best spring vacation ever!

Oh yippee! Caturday.
(Tl/dr/somewhat carthic) you have been warned. Plus Cessna goodness. The stories I could tell being for a good part of my younger life being a private pilot for hire......as well as a first class broadcast license that paid for my edumication (g) and private pilot hours..... There was a great summer in grad school we rented a plane through the school (a roommate got us Yugoslavian (I know I spelled this wrong) passports. We flew getting hours into lots of islands and had a wonderful time in Cuba. That caused Dad issues as he had been a White House advisor for several administrations and I was too stupid to think about the crap I caused. (Obviously I am an older fart, but with a teenager in high school now)

This week started out being severely depressing. A fark thread over a vaccine that killed our first born (vaccinate, we were the exception) had my wife and I spiraling under, especially as I was the next day installing DVD players I picked up from a humane society flea market into a charity hospice that needed them. Things got massively better for a couple of reasons. The kid (and I since he being under 18 required my presence and he is not really interested in his drivers license) by his volunteering at the humane society and him and I just getting "certified" to work with cat "socialization". Darn but I needed this. Sad thing is that kitten season is starting, and the kid and I both want to make sure that older cats get the love they need but there is a rotating cycle that makes sure every cat/kittens do rotation. He really earned my respect my telling my that the older cats in the shelter are more important than the kittens.

There is one eight year old very friendly (fur fungus) cat that I would love to adopt from the society because (may they rot and die) his family gave him up due to moving. My better two thirds is a dog person and two cats are enough for her. Cats are family pets. You have to be evil to abandon a cat. Scheese, the homeless shelters I cook for also have pet areas.

Yesterday was Lily's 5 year anniversary of coming home with me! She hid from me for a month, and I had to install a barrier to the downstairs to keep her from going down there, too.

This was the first day that I brought her home.....

Give her some scritchies from me!!

Will do!!

Good Meowning! Happy gotcha day to lily. I powered thru the thread this morning after I got up.

laulaja scritches applied to Eli the bitey. He sends purrs back atcha.

Eli has done a nice job soaking up tears this week. On Tuesday I was informed that I had been laid off due to a reduction in positions. Now, why did they hire me last year and have a person " float" between schools? They put that person in my position..So now I did not get to say goodbye to staff. My kids are going to come back and be sad. And I have no idea what will happen to the Summer reading program. So, I have not felt too social...

Hi Caturdayers.

I have a question -- perhaps some of you know about this. A coworker of mine has a kitteh (she's about 14 years old -- kitteh not coworker) who has been dealing with hyperthyroidism for a long time. I guess medication has helped for a while, but recently things have taken a turn for the worse.

She was told about "Radio Cat." Evidently their success rate is pretty high? So she is taking kitteh to one of their offices next week to get the treatment.

Anyone have any experience with this? I am just curious.

oh and a cat

*whew!* I am caught up AND I made the bestest breakfast EVAR! and I fed the kittehs and made moar coffee.

Happy Homecoming Week, Lily! You got SO LUCKY to get the hoomin BFF you got! She listened when you said "I wanna go home wit you". :-D

Hai, Buddy da Wunderhund! Little cutie pie trooper - no wonder you are so tired and yawning. It's hard work being awesome.

Oh, there was a bunch of other people/stuffs, but now I forgot. Pooey. I am distracted with my sammich. It is toasted 12 grain bread with cream cheese, cucumber, tomato, radish sprouts - and then I added a few slices of crispy bacon and lots of fresh cracked pepper. OM NOM NOM NOM.

Oh, we had a fire in the kitchen last night - just a little one - but it took me a whole can of flour to put out and scared my mom. I don't know who it was that made an invisible mess inside one of the burners, but it was a reminder that no matter how awful I feel, it really would be best if someone in this house did not cook. I WILL DO IT, STEP AWAY FROM THE STOVE YOU SLOB. I strongly suspect my clueless son or my drunken slob of a sister. Whoever did it, I have a hell of a mess to clean up today, because after all my doctor stuff yesterday I simply lacked the energy to put out the fire, finish dinner anyway and then clean up the damn mess. I'm going to have to disassemble the entire top of the stove for that. *sigh*

Enough of my biatchin', have some critters instead!

Nah, it was one of those little flare ups under the burner, except when I said "sonuva...." and sprinkled a bit of flour on it to smother it, it flared up - which I have NEVER had happen before! - and started licking the bottom of the stove vent top thingie. At which point I quietly muttered something like "f*ck" and dumped the whole can of flour on it and pushed it around to smother the flames. The fire alarm went off and that brought my mom running, and she over reacts to EVERYTHING. Seriously. I had to get stitches in the back of my head about three years ago because of one of her classic over reactions to me dropping a plastic cup. (A full minute later, while I am still bent over cleaning up the mess, she came up behind me and then screamed "WHAT HAPPENED?!?" like a smoking crater full of mangled corpses suddenly appeared in the hallway and she was shocked and horrified and trying to figure out if she should run or not. I was startled and jumped and hit the back of my head on the open door of the cupboard that I had grabbed the dust rag I was using to clean from, resulting in much blood flow and blurred vision. Total over reaction, and I am still not convinced she felt bad or she'd still not do that sort of random screaming in unwarranted panic thing)

NO WONDER I didn't feel like cleaning up the flour mess, especially with mom right behind me running her mouth non-stop trying to figure out WHO DID WHAT and if her stove was ruined. I dunno mom, but you can shut up, make yourself useful or go away. Pick one. I don't want you behind me right now - or any other time - so I'm all for "go away".

My family is so weird, I swear.

Bah! Just noticed I am out of kitteh kibble. Now I gotta go to the store and get some, THEN clean up the flour mess. I'm buying cookies while I'm there. I can't believe I don't have any cookies!

*** Warning, long story about cats, a toddler and a bird ***

Wednesday after getting home from an evening swim lesson for the little one, followed by heating and eating dinner, I heard a loud and repeated chirping.  I followed the sound while the little one followed me and found at least two, if not three, of the cats in the garage, along with a temporarily hidden source of the loud chirping.

Grabbed one of the cats, gently tossed him into the bathroom, closed the door and grabbed a towel on the way back to the garage.  With the little one watching from the doorway, after a fumble or two, I managed to pull the second cat away with one hand and toss the towel over the bird with the other hand.
So now I have a frightened bird that I am pretty sure is a juvenile (very short tail) and possibly a robin that I have barely seen wrapped in a towel against my chest.  Not knowing how badly or if it is hurt at all, I go to my computer and find out that the WildCare facility will be closed in 15 minutes.  Problem?  Yes, it is over 15 minutes to get there.  I find their number, ask if they will still be open if I get toddler and bird in the car, they say sure.

I was SO PROUD of my little girl!  I briefly explained we had to help the bird and she need to get shoes on (she was already dress from swim lessons) and get in the car "quick, quick, quick".  She immediately got her shoes on while I was stuffing the bird, towel and all, into the cat carrier and getting the door shut.  It is not uncommon for her to get stubborn about getting shoes on, not this time.  She also got in her car seat quick enough I didn't need to encourage her, another frequent point of potential wasted time.
Once she was in and buckled up, the carrier with the bird went in the back seat between her and the door.  We talked about the bird, about birds in general, about how birds talk (that one chirped), about how we don't want wild animals to know humans are helping them so they can go back to living as wild animals and so on on the trip.

We got to WildCare, I got the bird out, set him on top of the trunk long enough to get the little one out of the car.  I unbuckle the car seat, she gets out.  Again, she was helping by going relatively fast.  I told her where we were going (it's out in the middle of nowhere and 15 minutes after the official drop off closing time so no cars) and we're off with the bird.  Once inside, she carefully waited, for some reason there were tons of boxes scattered everywhere and she didn't knock any over.  One of the volunteers examined the bird while the little one and I watched.  It was a juvenile robin, it was hurt but not badly.  After a few antibiotics and a bit of growing he should be ready for release.

I am really proud that my little girl was ready to drop everything and cooperate so well with me to help a poor bird that was in the wrong place at the wrong time.  As for my part, it was just doing what needed to be done to help a critter that needed help that I was able to give.

Have you tried cooking with Truvia Baking Blend?  It tastes just like you used regular sugar, but only 1/4th the calories of regular sugar.  To substitute, just use half as much in the recipe instead of the regular sugar.

Timid Goddess: *** Warning, long story about cats, a toddler and a bird ***

*snip*

You and your mini rescuer of small critters are AWESOME! I am proud of your wee one as well. My son is pushing 30 and he can still come up with a dozen ways to drag his feet about stuff he doesn't feel like doing (though putting on his shoes is no longer as high on the list as it was when he was a little guy). What is it with little kids and shoes, anyway?

Good job, Tiny Timid Goddess! (You too, mom!)

Timid Goddess: Have you tried cooking with Truvia Baking Blend?  It tastes just like you used regular sugar, but only 1/4th the calories of regular sugar.  To substitute, just use half as much in the recipe instead of the regular sugar.

I have not. I am one of those real cream, real butter, whole eggs kinda gals. When I was edumakated about Egg Beaters I was shocked at how tasty they were. Growing up in the '70s - the last time white sugar was so viciously maligned it wasn't even allowed in our house and I had to sneak candy from friends' houses - made me incredibly resistant to artificial anything. No one will never convince me that nutritional yeast tastes like cheese and that carob is exotic and expensive chocolate enjoyed by European royalty, either. That's what the makers of all these things are up against with me - spending a good decade being lied to by her own mother, because everything that is tasty is "bad" for you and will kill you DEAD faster than the Zodiac killer. I no longer believe any of the "better for you and tastes just as good", because like fat chicks everywhere, I remember when people mess with my enjoyment of my food. (Even if I wasn't fat when it happened)

I will admit I have pondered using Truvia, but I am a bit concerned about the impact on texture, especially in baked goods. Sugar isn't just used for flavoring, but also has a lot impact on the overall texture of the finished product. If it weren't so darn expensive, I might try a few things with it, but with my finances the way they are right now, I can't afford to experiment as much as I'd like to (and I'm too tired all the time anyway, so *shrug*).

BTW, Oreos were on sale, as were the Wheat Thins. I got a package of each, because I like Wheat Thins (which are actually quite fattening) and I'd never had the berry Oreos before. I deem the berry Oreos "tasty".

Now I gotta go clean up the mess from putting out the fire last night. I'm amazed at how well I managed to contain the flour mess. It could have been much, much worse - especially if I didn't get the fire out so quickly!

I tried last year, not gonna happen this year.

And my new personal favourite picture of him at his new place - my how big and more beautiful he has become :3

And now I just looked at the calendar and felt a twinge in my heart...
Yesterday - June 19th, would have been Ben Hurr's 3rd birthday too if he had survived :(
So here are some of my favourites of my little meat ball head, my Benners - RIP

Please invest in a small fire extinguisher.
Trying to use flour is a very, very dangerous way to try
to put out a kitchen fire.
Flour is very flammable!
Especially when poured. The dust is what explodes when ignited.
Please, PLEASE, buy a real extinguisher.

Yes! I cringed when I read her post. At the very least keep a large box of baking soda on hand. I have a fire extinguisher in my kitchen and was very glad that my husband had insisted in on it when we had a fire. Went out and bought a replacement right away afterward.

I have a real fear of fire.
I live in a single wide trailer that has a large bedroom, a hallway with my washer & dryer,
a small bathroom a kitchen/living room and a small bedroom.
I have 4 extinguishers in the trailer. (and 1 in my car)
1 by each door, 1 in the kitchen, 1 in the master bedroom.
A small ABC Kidde extinguisher is only about $18.
Please have at least 1 in the kitchen.

Now at bottom of page bottom.  Just came from job fair at local college.  Handed out a metric buttload of resumes.  Guys at a few of the booths liked what was written down, may have at least a temp job by next month.

But you know what they say about promises.  If promises were horses, we would all be up to our buts in horsewish!

And also, a beer.  CAT I MEAN CAT.

Gopt a question for the regulars and old-timers on here...

Do you guys think it would be to Alien's advantage for me to plug her crowdfunding site* on the mains?  I want her site to get as much exposure as possible, but I don't want to get her in front of a bunch of Farkers if you guys think it might be a bad idea for whatever reason.

EIP, please respond and give me your vote and/or opinion on the topic.  I will respect whatever consensus you long-termers come to.

* Yes, it is a link to her gofundme site, consider visiting there and funding her again.  If you already have, come back on here and brag about it to shake the lurkers into doing same!  The more the marry her!

And more good news on my front! My "white trash" neighbors are finally GONE!!!! they left a huge mess for the property mgmt. people to deal with, too. I went over when they were there, and asked if they could please cut down the garbage tree growing next to my fence, and he was all "oh yeah...I'm going to cut back the whole fence line"! He also said that they punched a hole in the floor, and were throwing garbage into the basement! EWW!!!!! Pigs! When I got home today, it was all cleaned up, so I went over and sprayed everything that was left with killer stuff! HA! I'm a happy gurl!!!!!! :D

Hooray, good for you!

tigerose: Good Meowning!

Please invest in a small fire extinguisher.
Trying to use flour is a very, very dangerous way to try
to put out a kitchen fire.
Flour is very flammable!
Especially when poured. The dust is what explodes when ignited.
Please, PLEASE, buy a real extinguisher.
/off soapbox

My mom and I were JUST talking about grain silo explosions and whatnot when I was cleaning up the stove. We must have sensed your post from afar because we both came to the same conclusion/remembered flour is probably a bad idea a little while ago. We kinda wondered how I'd gotten away with smothering fires with flour at least two or three times in the past without killing everyone, everywhere (or at least in a several block radius).

I *did* have a small fire extinguisher right by where we have the stand for the magical micro cooker thingamabob and where we keep the recycling bins. Somehow it disappeared during the Great Termite Wars of 2013. We had several odd things disappear during that time. Where they went, nobody knows, but the fire extinguisher I actually noticed was missing almost immediately, because I clean that part of the floor every time the recycling goes to the outside bins - so three or more times per week. I had to move the fire extinguisher to clean it properly, so when my hand automatically went to grab it and it was gone, I was all "Heyyyyy. Something is MISSING". Definitely got to get a new one, because while I do occasionally make messes while cooking, I am not known for accidentally starting fires because of them - probably because I always, always, always "cook clean". Obviously not everyone cooks clean, but the fact at least one person in this house also does not know how to use a dish rag to clean their own potentially flammable materials off of a stove when they're done cooking is more than a little worrisome.

predle: Here's an update on Lux, the 911 cat

Thank you! I always wonder how well some of those cats do after the show is over and wish they'd do follow ups with them a year or more down the line. Lux was extra special though, especially because of his illness. Poor guy. Glad to hear he's doing better for the time being. :-D

I'm going to polish our stainless steel dishwasher now. That stove looks GREAT - better than when we first bought it, even! Unfortunately, my nails are trashed from all the scrubbing and polishing, but I can fix those later. I just got a new perfume (for free!) that kind of smells like autumn. You know, dark and kind of musky and woodsy and like you just rolled in leaves and there was maybe a single flower in there somewhere, but it didn't make you smell of flowers (I do not like floral scents), so now I'm like "it is autumn, because I say it is" and later tonight I will paint my fingernails a lovely autumn shade (a brown with gold microglitter - very pretty!) and tell myself over and over and over it is autumn or I wouldn't be wearing autumn colors and smelling of autumn. My form of denial harms NO ONE, so I'm running with it. (also, it's too hot to go outside, so why not?)

Lsherm: lilyspad: Lsherm: Happy Caturday!

Timid Goddess: *** Warning, long story about cats, a toddler and a bird ***

We talked about the bird, about birds in general, about how birds talk (that one chirped), about how we don't want wild animals to know humans are helping them so they can go back to living as wil ...

Nice story  :)

Hello Family!
*waves madly*

With everything I am going through - I TOTALLY forgot that it was Gremlin's 3rd Birthday June 3rd :O
I asked for any recent pictures but she doesn't have any so instead I shall do a little belated Happy Birfday
to my biggest fluffy brat whom I miss dearly but is doing so much better with his new slave.

The very first day I lay my eyes on him - I knew he was the perfect companion for Ben Hurr :3

Another typical sleeping pose for Gremlin :3 look at those toe tufts!
[scontent-a-sea.xx.fbcdn.net image 640x480]
And my new personal favourite picture of him at his new place - my how big and more beautiful he has become :3

And now I just looked at the calendar and felt a twinge in my heart...
Yesterday - June 19th, would have been Ben Hurr's 3rd birthday too if he had survived :(
So here are some of my favourites of my little meat ball head, my Benners - RIP

Mrs CDK: Hai guise! Haven't read the thread. Been chillin' on the couch recovering from surgery on Tuesday. Still not feeling too hot.

Any sherpa sightings? CDK heard from him a couple of days ago. He was working on lining things up to hopefully leave this weekend.

It's a Pearl Crescent butterfly. (and sticking his tongue out)

Mostly quiet bigger beasties wise, I did hear the Pileated Woodpecker, but off a long ways, and was too busy to go hunting. And went home the other way by the other populated Osprey nest, but the highway was way too busy with cottage traffic going the other way to stop. (Did see momma's head, and have seen both adult heads earlier in the season... likely a baby or two there as well)

My brother's 11 year-old border collie Marvin and their 13 year-old "Mama cat" who came with the farm and refused to come out of the barn for the first 10 years:

Marvin has always had a barking problem, but he is that rare creature who has solved slowly going deaf by barking even louder, thus negating the negative effects of deafness.  My brother's driveway is almost 3/4 of a mile long and you can hear Marvin from the damn street when you pull in.

Yeah, I can't wait. I've been using a temporary (flipper) for a year and a half now. They're not really intended to be used that long. I still have six months to go because today's festivities wiped out my dental coverage for the year (and my wallet.)

Quick check-in & check-out.
Long day that started first thing with a tumble to the floor.
I spent about 45 minutes trying to get back up.
Left knee is boogered something terrible.
The medicine says it's now time to go to bed unless I want to spend more time on the floor.

I think it's about time to post myself for sale on Craigslist before depreciation gets the better of me.

Very Bl8dly, type at ft of pg4. Must admit q_j's grandad's airport was about a mile & a half over the back fence of parents' & my house on Lincoln Ave in Brownsburg, until 1964 when they had house on Acre Av (further west) built by guy who used to live next door.
Spent all day since 11AM at Harmony Festival, SoundEffects sang this eve. Chorus will tomorrow. Turns out I caused major problem by suggesting folk park close to bldg we were to perform in, that we couldn't even get inside until 45 min after director wished us to be there. Wound up calling campus cops; the one who came was gonna throw us out because no one told him we were sposed to be there. Luckily, young lady from Summer Course Staff came with key to let us in. Campus cop was gonna throw us out anyway. Tomorrow there'll be No Such Problem, it sez here.
