My lawyer assures me that Star Wars figurines, Mint in Box, can be exchanged for American USD at a rate of 243:1.

The victim reportedly went to the suspect's home but never returned. Mexican authorities later detained several individuals who were in possession of the victim's body - and who then implicated the suspect, authorities said.

RTFA, the toys were going to be accepted as repayment plus vig. This story could be more interesting, the only   evidence seems to be the testimony of the guys with the body. I don't know how it works in Mexico, but I could spin a argument that the testimony was just to save their bacon.

Should've taken the deal..Based on TFA it appears that the SW collection was worth far more than the amount owed.

You are failing to calculate the time and psychological distress involved in ebay/craigs selling the damn things if you accept them as payment.  If they're worth so much, and selling them so easy, the corpse could've sold them himself to pay back the loan.

I don't take 'stuff' as payment on loans either, especially 'collectable' stuff.
