In terms of American fast food, we only have McDonald's, Burger King [t/as Hungry Jack's] and KFC where I live.

Always get a bit jealous when I hear Farkers talk about In-N-Out, White Castle, Wendy's, Jack in the Box, Five Guys, Taco Bell, Arby's, Chick-fil-A.... I could go on.

// you guys sound fat.

Who the fark cares about burgers?

Gas prices are never "meh" subby. They effect everything from your transportation budget to your food/other essential shiat you need to buy that goes up when gas does.

I livewithin ten minutes of every one of those except White Castle.  In-N-Out is great for a basic burger but as people will attest, the fries are meh.  They do use real ice cream in the milkshakes though.  Wendy's and Jack in The Box... I always found them about on par with Burger King.  I just tried Five Guys the other day.  The burger was not much better than In-N-Out and more expensive, but dayumn... the fries, it was like they used a whole county in Idaho just for my order.  Five guys also has more options for burger toppings.  Taco Bell..  textured vegetable protein and grease for stoner college kids.  Arby's is good, a step above most fast food I find if you order a proper sandwich.  Chick-Fil-A is the most "white people" chicken I've ever had.  A pounded, breaded chicken breast on a white bun with pickles.  Eh.

I should be fat, somehow as an adult I manage the restraint to not live of the greasy goodness that fueled my youth and indulge it when I find the occasional need.

Cheers for the info. Seems like Taco Bell is to be avoided!

Textured Vegetable Protein isn't really all that disgusting... it's just basically flavored ground up tofu.  They use it because it's cheaper than beef.  But lord, the salt and grease content of an average 3:00am Taco Bell binge is astounding.  Something not to be attempted if you value your toilet.

Yep, that they are, even more so than most fast food burgers.  I'm on blood pressure meds, so while I might splurge on a double-double every few months, there's no way I'm touching those fries.

You're not missing much.  In-N-Out makes a decent burger and fries, but they don't have them here either.

White Castle is horrible.

Wendy's is on;y slightly better than White Castle.

Jack-in-the-Box is okay if you like really greasy tacos.  Their fries are good too.  They don't have any locations here either.

I've never been to 5 guys so I can't judge them.

Taco Bell, Arby's and Chik-Fil-A all suck.

I'm not fat.

Also you forgot Sonic - I could eat their tater tots all day long.

$2k per person RT? Jesus I can pick one up for 2300 for a flight to Munich (not a hub) tomorrow. $1500 for a flight in two weeks. How rushed were your plans?

AmateurTip: If you're on Twitter, follow @airfarewatchdog or go to their website. Regular RT tickets for under a grand. Last time I scoped a trip for the future Mrs and I, we had about $2500 planned for arriving at and departing from different airports.

Nothing wrong with taco bell in my eyes.

My own tacos are better but when you don't want to cook it's good enough,  it's good drunk/stoner food.

The above doesn't apply though if you live somewhere that has taco trucks or real mexican restaurants though.

What's not to love is it probably tastes like cardboard.

gfid:  probably

That's the worst word a person can use in an insult.

It's actually very tasty. I had it once just to try it to compare it to a chipolte one, and shockingly, Taco Bell was better.

Chipolte isn't bad in flavor but what I hate about them is that their burritos are essentially a laundry bag filled with food. It is, in every sense of the word, so good you can't put it down. Youll be using a fork to eat the rest if you try to pick it up again

With the sole exception of In-N-Out, which uses by far the highest quality ingredients, you're not missing much.
Burger King is largely comparable to Wendy's or Jack In The Box.  5 Guys and Chik-Fil-A I guess are a little better, while Arby's is downright revolting.
Taco Bell is offensive to me because they horrendously misrepresent tacos, and Mexican Food in general, as a concept.

I managed $2800 with hotel 8 days in Rome. Two people so $1400/person. RDU->IAD->FCO. A couple weeks ago, booked like 3 weeks in advance. Wanted to go to London but it was $4k for the both of us.

Try Kayak or Google Flights and check back every day. Flights tend to be cheaper on.. Thursday I think. Could be Sunday. My price dropped from $3800 to $2800 over two days.

How about that it's a pile of low-quality gristly "beef" smothered in Velveeta?
It's not wrapped in a quesadilla, it's wrapped in a stale tortilla and molten Kraft Singles.  No farking quesadilla in the world can use that stuff, it is against the rules.  Disqualification.
