To be somewhat fair, this was also a fault line in liberal thought about the Bush administration. Usually though, liberals put the motives on different people - incompetence for Bush, sabotage for Cheney.

Cognitive dissonance?  In MY Republican party?

Not to mention the assholes who believe both simultaneously.

I assign it to blundering sabotage.

"is willfully blind to the impact of his policies..."

So we're talking about the impact of the GOP's social policy on people like her sister?

Except that we were pretty much proven right on both.

blundering incompetence or cunning sabotage?

Doesn't matter.  Any way you look at it, he's still black.

I would slightly disagree, and say that Cheney wasn't intentionally trying to hurt America. What happened to America was an afterthought to his plans. He simply didn't care.

Obama is the Asgardian Destroyer armor.  A tyrannical and unstoppable weapon of mass destruction, while at the same time still being an empty suit.

If you see someone screwing something up will fullness and incompetence are both logical conclusions. Some believe one, others the other.

I still believe it's just incompetence coupled with arrogance for Obama but I can see how Obama's failures seem like deliberate sabotaging of America especially since he's never liked America all that much.

What else would you expect from a ultra-liberal, fascist, Stalinist, Muslim President who is trying to destroy Capitalism while he's in the pocket of Wall Street?

2014-06-18 01:31:19 PM
It's really quite simple. His domestic agenda is cunning sabotage; his foreign policy is blundering incompetence.

Unfortunately no, he has already passed secret gun grabber regulations which prevent the ownership or use of semi-automatic energy weapons.

Remember when Bill Clinton was the worst president who was going to destroy the country with his horrible policies and his terrible personal behavior?   Do republicans only know one song?

Yes.  And most of those morons will never remember that things didn't actually go to hell under Clinton after all.  Just as they won't remember all the stuff they claimed about Obama.

To be perfectly fair, Clinton signed off on the repeal of Glass-Steagle, which led directly to the mortgage fraud bubble.

Just like Iraq, the disasters of presidents past are the headaches of the new administration.

They had such an easier time walking away from Vietnam. This isn't going well for them at all.

That said, they're completely controlling the narrative while democrats...I don't know what they're doing. Somehow I think this ends with them distancing themselves from Obama, because you really want to cozy up to Dick farking Cheney when you need a liberal base to continue your employment.

2014-06-18 01:54:49 PM
I thought the leading narrative was that Obama vacillated between blundering incompetence and cunning sabotage depending on what it says he should do on his calendar.

So fearing that he has harmed America through incompetence is one thing, but who really thinks that Obama wakes up in the morning and says to himself "what can I do today to destroy America, the country where I and my children will most likely spend the rest of their lives?"

Obama is an incompetent asshole on the outside, and a seething cauldron of Marxist rage on the inside.

A phony, with marginal to non-existent capabilities. But he excels at being the screen onto which others around him project their desires and aspirations.

So, a bumbling, failed saboteur.

To be fair, though, anyone with a childhood as rotten as his would be a cold, arrogant, pseudo-intellectual poseur.

Not only Glass-Steagle, what about that FCC move that allowed all of hate radio to become dominant (by allowing radio stations to be bought up by corporations)?  That change, you could argue, created all the conservative trolls on Fark (and everywhere else).  Way to go, Bill!

You misspelled 'idiots'

People will look back fondly on this president as a poster upthread suggested, nowhere near perfect but much better (professionally and morally) than many give credit for.

Or so I see, what do I really know about it anyway.
