He used a soccer game as an excuse to not work, get drunk, and act like a middle-aged child?

But was it as hilarious as Neil DeGrasse Tyson trolling gravity on twitter?  Because I have it on good authority that that was hilarious.

Soccer humor in the U.S.? That's a pretty specific demographic.

Sounds like someone needs to put down the Haterade™ and live a little.

Didn't originally give a damn of soccer until they started winning?

But so what, we win the World Series every year.

The thing I love about soccer...

U.S. wins, the majority of Americans don't care.

U.S. loses, the majority of Americans don't care.

Meanwhile, everyone that is passionate about the game is incensed about American ambivalence toward the sport.

Which comprise the rosters of every country competing.
The Russia/Korea match yesterday was interesting because the players were actually Russian and Korean. Everything else is just a competition to see whose refugee program produces the best athletes.

Yeah pretty much.  It was worded the same goofy way.  Also, Uproxx and buzzfeed are totally indistinguishable to me.

You could drink to it, but I mean, everytime, uhm, something happends (?) you drink?

Unlike any other sport. Like American Football where the players wear tights.

Any sport where the players drop to the ground, and proceed to flail and shriek like a little girl with a skinned knee, every time somebody bumps into them, is not worth anyone's attention.  Yes, NBA I'm looking at you too.

A bunch of chavs playing poor man's ball.  Yay, or whatevs.  Then again, I have to agree with Garp about sports.  If a ball is involved, it's not about the player.  It's a game, not a sport.

But not as much as I hate football, basketball, baseball, tennis, or golf.

/I don't need a damn sport to drink, thank you very much.

Yeah. NBA and soccer involve Shakespearian death scenes when the slightest contact is made.
