I am a very happy to admit that this is the first time I have heard of this person.  Is that weird?

Not that I've never heard of him, that I'm happy about it...

Hey kudos to him for having that many people want to see what he's doing and for posting fresh content.

CSB:
I only had one thing I subscribed to on YouTube: Epic Rap Battles of History, but they ran out of idea and lost their mojo so I unsubcribed.

So what I am saying is fresh content is key to keeping those subscribers and becomes a breaking point for most on their way up or down the YouTube ladder of stardom.

He earns more money than your entire family going back 500 years in one year and he gets it by making dumb faces and acting like a total spaz, thusly teaching the CNN analyists watching YouTube that HE is representative of the latest and worst generation.

Yes, he is one of the reasons the commercials you see are so asinine-they believe that's what you want, 'cause of him.  It's how it works. The shait rises to the top and then Hollywood emulates it because it's what YOU want, and it IS what YOU want because otherwise he would not have so many views. (that is how the logic works)

Glad I could help. ;)

tl;dr? He gets bank to make people look bad and his very existence hurts, cheapens, and dumbs down society.

He's a YouTube partner. He gets a check after a large chuck of views are calculated. He gets a 100,000 views, he gets like a thousand bucks, but in the millions of views, he makes about 20 times that for one video, and he does that several times a year.

Ads, man. Ads.

I know perfectly well who he is, I am a gamer who also watches gaming videos. I've watched a few of his videos, but much prefer other broadcasters. I just find it amusing that people flock to these threads to ridicule someone who is doing quite well in a field that the commenter cares/knows nothing about.

I know quite a bit about it and I feel he deserves zero dollars. Call it what you want, but I call it being rewarded for outright retardation. There's no other way for me to put it.

It's not exactly a field with Shakespearean quality performances by its stars. Just think of it as the pop music of the gaming world. Forgettable performances by shiny people of limited talent making millions of dollars. You and I don't find him amusing, but I can see the appeal to young teenagers. He has a hell of lot of fun doing what he does, he is good looking, and he has an odd accent. That's enough to keep his demographic happy. I don't think that people hitting a ball with a stick deserve millions either, but they keep their demographics happy as well.

As for gamers I do watch, Vanoss and H20Delirious (and their sidekicks) crack me up a lot, especially when teamed up. They don't do much besides just playing games and commenting while doing so, but Vanoss's quick wit and Delirious's utter insanity work well together.

The stuff in the politics tab has a slim chance of actually mattering. Down below "what's the best controller" or "who is your favorite street fighter" they're discussing sales figures for companies that they're not considering investing in, quarterly reports, new product SKUs and what those trademark filings really mean.

There's nothing I can say against those truths...no matter how terrifying.

Those others I have not watched; what I'm looking for is an AVGN minus the toilet humor. (yeah, good luck)

Teddy Rubs Skin is kinda amusing at times.

And people made fun of him, but Jedite farking rocked. His Haunted Castle video cracks me up to no end.

He earns four million dollars a year.

For an hour's work a day. Which consists of putting on a silly voice and playing video games.  He has no boss, can do whenever he wants and has millions of fans.

I'm sure he cries himself to sleep every night.

Thanks for picking up on that. That's the crux of the matter. Yours truly was raised to be intelligent and to do his best, and the rewards would come according to those traits. Now that the world has decided to reward outright laziness and asinine childish rantings (sadly, I did check out pewdiefark to see what the heck he was about-once), I am a tad displeased over that, rightfully so.

Anyone with a brain should be, and there's plenty of talented people on YouTube who are being ignored because they're not scream-farting fast enough and jump-cutting home movies of them taking selfies and acting like a Smurfs on PCP.

From Retsupurae, all you really need to know about that idiot. Adults react to PewDiePie.

Volume warning and NSFW language.

His channel is mostly Let's Plays by a guy who basically tells dick and fart jokes in a Mr Hanky voice. I am not sure why a number of self-proclaimed "gamers" like this guy specifically or what separates him from the pack.

With that said, more power to the guy. I would be just as annoying to all of you in a heartbeat for that kinda money or a fraction of it.

There's two schools of thought when it comes to merit-based advancement. Those who believe in it as an ideal and refuse to work within the framework of reality, and pragmatists who attempt to determine what does determine success and embrace that. Those are the ones whose goal is being successful, rather than talented. For example, Talib Kweli is a very talented rapper. Jay-Z is a very successful rapper. Jay-Z has said straight out that he would prefer to rhyme like Talib, but not to the extent that he is willing to forgo success, because he sees clearly that Talib's talent makes him inaccessible to many people, and being accessible is more likely to make him successful. So he purposefully writes simpler rhymes than he is capable of in order to be successful. He's now a billionaire, while Talib Kweli is relatively unknown.

Oh, I know Jay-Z is is a sell-out. I know. Never heard of the other. lol  That's the point, I know.

I guess my beef is not so much that people will do what they have to do (legally) to acquire money, it's that the rules changed so quickly I cannot keep up.

I'm at a crossroads. I've worked hard to see a lot of it has gone in vain, and I do hate wasting my time.

So, yes, when someone literally farts and yells and plays video games(not even well) and gets millions, yes it pisses me off because it should not be that simple.

Eh, sometimes I forget how unfair life is, so I'll stop. Nothing new here. *shrug* I'll just keep on keeping on, and next time try to ignore when the next total idiot is given the keys to the kingdom.
