(Huffington Post)   "McDonald's least favorite fast food chain" Really? I would've thought it'd be the shiat-shiatting food you'd get at Arby's. "Arby's: Where even your shiat can't stand you eating it. Arby's"   (huffingtonpost.com) divider line 46

It's also not helping that Americans are more likely to opt for higher quality meals at chains like Outback Steakhouse or Olive Garden as they emerge from the recession.

Wat.

McDonald's, if anything, tends to be very consistent. KFC on the other hand is literally a crap shoot. Sometimes it's tolerable, others it's gelatinous glistening fat surrounding a low calcium bone.

I love McDonald's fries.

Because of this headline, I am going to have 2 roast beef sangwiches with extra horsey and Arby's sauce for lunch.

Arby's and Wendy's are my 2 favorite fast food places when driving long distances. Arby's has curly fries, and their sandwiches aren't bad. Wendy's has chicken nuggets you can dip into the Frosty. What's not to love?

This Arby's sandwich is surprisingly edible.  Everything from McDonald's smells like bong water.

How the hell is Pizza Hut up there?  Mega grease pizza...  Oh wait, I answered my own question.

Their food is consistent, but so is their inability to furnish the dipping sauces I'm entitled to.  Therefore, with a saddened and clogged heart, I must vote that McDonald's is my least favorite.

Shazam999: How the hell is Pizza Hut up there?

Yeah, either Pizza Hut or Dominos have to be the worst of the major chains. There's at least a couple of edible items on the menu at McDonalds, nothing Pizza Hut or Dominos make is fit for human consumption.

It's probably just your McDonald's.  The rest of them smell like a sweaty asshole.

Bit misleading. Still has crazy approval ratings. Worst burgers ever.

I got sick off Arby's about 24 years ago when I was 9. Haven't eaten there since. I hold grudges a long time.

/Same with a chain called Church's Chicken.
//McDonald's has never made me sick.

Can we let the recession/recovery talk go? The recession ended in June 2009 and any recovery beyond that has been growth.

Arby's is good food, I eat there once a month or so, their beef n cheddar is damn tasty and their curly fries are the best. On the other hand, I haven't eaten at a McD's in 6 or 8 years.

I feel the same about the toxic waste pile Papa John's calls Pizza.

I love Arby's, but the one near me keeps running out of roast beef by mid-dinner rush, which just seems like horrible planning.

The technical indicator of a recession is two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth as measured by a country's GDP.  It is not "why aren't here more jobs".  I get it that recession has become a colloquial term like "theory", but it has an actual meaning that isn't based on how one feels.

I know, its just funny. The recovery and all. I thought there was a name for this one, the 'recoverless recovery' or something. :)

Typically jobs are the last thing to recover.  Also the US lost millions of jobs.  Compare that to the "new jobs created" number per month.

The conclusions are obviously false. McDonalds is insanely popular. That's just a fact.

Arby's is pretty good here. Pizza Hut, on the other hand puts way too much salt on their pizza. I just can't stomach it.

I have a Burger King nearby that ran out of hamburger patties the other day at 11:30am. I didn't inquire if the manager still had a job afterwards.

I also have a KFC nearby that keeps running out of dark meat. Or rather, they fail to have any ready when I order and ask me to wait 20 minutes.

I lost interest in Arby's after they deleted roastburgers and homestyle fries. And Wendy's best menu item is their chili, which isn't the best food for long drives.

Never visit McDonald's when I'm home. But when I'm driving long distances, a double cheeseburger meal is a cheap and consistent way to fill my crap factory.

/"consistent" referring to the quality of the meal from state to state

Arby's can't be all bad.  Their jalapeno poppers are stuffed with delicious cream cheese instead of disgusting cheddar, and they come with Bronco Berry sauce - king of the dipping sauce world.

Flying Code Monkey: Is the Arby's thing like Microsoft?  We hate them because we hate them?  I need some help aligning my hate array.

Jon Stewart regularly bashes them and has no idea why. He's even said on multiple occasions he was happy with the food and service every time he's been there.

I think Arby's is just bashed because they're the fast food equivalent of the soulless ginger.

2014-06-18 05:28:56 PM
It's Arby's fries that are the problem.

2014-06-18 05:34:45 PM
I've never understood the Arbys hate.  I't not great, but at least most of the food looks recognizable as such.  Except for the cheddar sauce they use.  That looks and tastes like some sort of industrial lubricant NASA would use.

2014-06-18 05:41:13 PM
Why are we supposed to hate Arby's?

I've loved a big beef n' cheddar with curly fries, root beer, plenty of arby's sauce and horsey sauce since I was a little kid.  Are they horrible now or something?

I like Arby's well enough. Except for the lack of regular fries. Sorry, but I hate curly fries.

As for McDonald's, the less said the better. The companies run by greedy douchebags, and I can't help shake the feeling that all of their their food is grown in vats and just poured into molds at a factory somewhere.

Wendy's for me please.

No, it tastes just as good now as it ever did, maybe even better. It's just that if you post here on Fark, you're required to hate all chain restaurants.

They have regular fries, too.  Was just there yesterday.  You can also get onion rings, salad or potato cakes instead of fries, at no charge (at least at the one I was at).

I haven't been to one in forever, but I like their curly fries. Do they still do the deli sammiches? Those didn't suck.

Also, their chocolate / coffee shake is pretty darn yummy.

Last week, I went to Arby's for the first time in 10 or 15 years.  They have three sizes of roast beef sandwich, so I got the medium, a small drink and small fries.  I was hoping it would be enough.  Holy shiat, I could barely get through it.  t The medium sandwich was like that Hedberg joke about the cow with crackers on either side.  The small fries would have been a medium in any sane place.  The "small" drink was at least 20 oz.  They just got rid of the smalls and renamed everything a size down.  I wonder if they did it when Supersize Me came out and McDonalds was getting that backlash.  I barely eat out, so maybe this is old news to everyone else, but I'm old enough to remember when there actually was a small size.  The food was tasty, though.

tl;dr  The U.S. has an eating disorder.

P.S.  They had a loud bell by the exit that you were supposed to ring when you had good service, and they forced the employees to apathetically say "Thank you" to whomever rang it.  I found that rather grim.

I love Arby's...I just wish the nearest one wasn't 25 minutes away (one of the old-school ones with the giant neon hat).
When I really want a fast food burger, I just go to Wendy's.
McDonald's is the closest to me. Maybe once a year I'll get a random craving for a Big Mac. Other than that, all I get there is the chicken wraps.

Many of the fast food chains are like that now - the smalls are the old mediums.  This is to get people like you to pay more.

The top four named brands are all pizza! ...but then I realized we are happiest with not just pizza, but the restaurants that DELIVER THE FOOD TO US.
