Being an idiot and/or dishonest has consequences. It's not a conspiracy, it's life.

Unfortunately you're not rich or well connected enough to avoid that.

Glad this dishonest, pathetic individual got booted off of the ballot. Now I hope he is not allowed to switch his name back from Cesar Chavez for at least a year. The courts should make sure he has to live with the consequences of formally changing his name in a blatant attempt to trick people into voting for him.

This whole thing has been bananas, but the end of TFA has my favorite part yet:

Last week, CBS 5 News contacted Cesar Chavez, formerly known as Scott Fistler, to request an interview. The following response was sent on his behalf:

"Unless you have a real good offer Cesar Chavez is not interested. Because of the high demand we can not possibly talk to all media. Please understand reports asking why hit world wide. These 'official' specific answers are not free. Other high profile candidates charge for interviews and Cesar Chavez is no different. We are now dealing with a public figure he was mentioned on the Stephen Colbert Show just like any other famous candidates or elected officials. Cesar Chavez has acquired personal expenses do to his instant popularity.

"You are competing with several thousand media outlets to talk with Cesar Chavez. Yes, we are currently looking at offers. We have an agent so if you want to make a deal tell us, if not please do not waste ours or your time. The only question left for you to ask us is: 'whats it going to take to get an interview with Cesar Chavez?' and we will give you contacts for Cesar Chavez's agent."

What I would hope is that the legislature enacted a rule stating that you have to list your previous name as a candidate for political office or state on a sworn affadavit that you have not done business under any previous name for the past ten years with a penalty of automatic impeachment and removal.

Of course this is Arizona. They'll release prison porn starring Jan Brewer and Joe Arpaio first.

So apparently his campaign website is just a single blogspot post which he edits over and over.  Anyway, he believes he's a martyr for free speech now.  Can't find anything about his actual views besides this (probably have to pay him before he'll say anything), so I can't tell which variety of 'bagger he is: sociopathic or just plain insane.

Our freedom of speech is in jeopardy,  but we are up standing up against the corporate elite who want nothing more than to control an election. Spending millions on high profile lawyers just to challenge a candidate who is a military veteran who has a passion to effect change. A candidate who goes to the
VA Hospital looking for much needed care only to wait a ridiculous number of days to be seen.
We are living in days where we are discouraged from protesting. Media control to spread hate filled propaganda about a candidate they have never met.

It's simply a matter of voters having heard the name. If a voter sees one name that he or she recognizes (or thinks he or she recognizes), odds are the voter will select that candidate.

Why Texas does that now to voters, women voters. When a woman gets married and changes her name, her driver's license gives her a new name, too. It's a combo of her first name, maiden last name, and married last name. Most of the time that's not her real name she uses every day or on her passport or any military or government ID.

It keeps her from voting, since she registers to vote with her real name, not the bs name on her driver's license. It's guaranteed they won't match by design.

You ARE being targeted... You're being targeted by the people who review ballot signatures, as does every other candidate for office who collects signatures to get put onto the ballot. Since you had invalid signatures, they followed the actual law.

So fark off...
