Shut up Wolfowitz, you colossal prick. The least you can do now is own your failure like a real man.

And when the New York Times called you such 10 years ago, you didn't object then, because...?

IgG4: Shut up Wolfowitz, you colossal prick. The least you can do now is own your failure like a real man.

And THIS.

You know what will end this sectarian violence in Iraq? If we airlift Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Yoo, etc. etc. into Tikrit armed with pointed sticks, their wits, and a banner signed by Obama saying "Dear Iraqis: Go for it."

2014-06-17 11:30:34 AM
Well, I'm convinced.

2014-06-17 11:37:36 AM
Turns out it was all a big misunderstanding. Wolfy, Dick, and Rummy didn't want to go to war at all.

We'll never know who started it, but apparently a rumor somehow got going and then all those troops just took it on themselves to deploy and conquer the shiat out of Iraq.

I distinctly recall Hillary and John Kerry leading the charge in Congress. They forced Bush into a war the Republicans never wanted.

Indeed. I don't know how people get such ridiculous notions stuck in their heads.

It's a total mystery, really.

Paul Wolfowitz should kill himself.

I highly doubt that would END sectarian violence, but it's worth a try

Of course Wolfowitz isn't the architect of the Iraq War.  An architect is a professional who uses care and skill to design a functional building.  Wolfowitz built something that looks like this:

"If I had been the architect, things would have been run very differently."

Example?

Turncoat Colin Powell was thought to be going to the UN merely to explain how much we wanted to give the Iraqi people freedom from an oppressive regime, and suddenly he's breaking out slides showing chemical and biological weapons manufacturing and centrifuge tubes that could be used for refining uranium. Nobody knew he was going to do that, and they went along, not thinking it could be such a big deal.

2014-06-17 02:11:10 PM
Ayn Rand knew about architects. She even wrote about them and their struggles with integrity.

2014-06-17 02:11:56 PM
It bothers me that even 10 years later I can't explain why we went to war with Iraq.
WMDs?  We know there were never any WMDs.
Oil?  We certainly didn't get any oil out of it.
"Daddy Issues"?  That may explain Bush, but it doesn't explain Cheney, Rumsfeld, PNAC, etc.
Defense contractors?  Maybe, but there are much easier ways to waste money on defense contracts than a huge multi-year war campaign

What an understatement.  A farking asshole is someone who cuts you off on the interstate.  This guy got tens of thousands of human beings killed for no discernible reason.

I should add, no one in the administration thought Powell would fake that kind of intelligence.

There is some amount of truth to that.  The other day, I saw footage of Hillary pleading for the removal of Saddam Hussein from power.

Wow. The signatories of that letter read as a perfect starting list of people we should have being tried in the Hague. Also, FTFL:

Iraq today is ripe for a broad-based insurrection. We must exploit this opportunity.

How....insightful

Make damn sure David Addington is on that list.

I was listening to the CNN interview this morning (yeah, I know, CNN sucks...shut up), and Wolfowitz was pretty much okay with assigning blame as long as it was Obama taking said blame.  Then Cuomo turned it around and brought up the fact that Bush had previously negotiated the time American troops were to withdraw and that's when we withdrew.  After that Wolfowitz didn't want to assign any blame at all until later in the interview when he said the current administration should have done more to extend the deadline.

Basically -- shut up, Wolfowitz, you colossal goddamn prick.

This is one of Americas biggest weakness. We cannot admit failure. Failure in anything. Without leaning from mistakes we continue to repeat them.

Much like their Trotskyite predecessors, Neoconservatives believe that you can spread US brand Freedom from the barrel of a gun.

2014-06-17 02:16:59 PM
- Iraq was involved with 9/11 attacks
- Iraq is just days away from a nuclear bomb
- Iraq has WMD Chemical Weapons
- The Iraq war will pay for itself
- The people of Iraq will treat us as liberators.
- The Iraq war will just take a couple of weeks

Obviously the people who said these we should listen to more about their advice!!

It's sad that news trying to look "unbiased" doesn't ever mention how wrong these people always are and take their continued advice as something people should listen to.

FTFA: Wolfowitz argued on both programs that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and other militants in Iraq should be referred to as Al Qaeda-linked groups, saying that the use of terms like "ISIS" and "Sunni and Shia" doesn't appropriately signify the urgency of the situation for the American people.

Yes because labeling all Muslims you disagree with as "Al Qaeda-linked groups/terrorists" without addressing the nuances of the situation by recognizing the differences in all parties involved (shiites, Sunnis, Al Qaeda, ISIS, etc.), has historically worked out so well for the U.S.

True however we learn from that mistake, now when we disagree with anyone we call them terrorists and drone them to death. Better?

"You say we should be talking about what needs to be done," he said, referring to Cuomo's introduction about lawmakers playing politics with Iraq, "and you're going back into this discussion about who's blaming whom."

Yeah, this bit of navel-gazing blame-game doesn't do a thing to prevent us from electing people who DON'T use hindsight and will re-get us involved in Iraq.

Look Paulie Farkingnuts - it's not so important that we blame PEOPLE for their colossal farkups in prognosticating, planning, and waging this abortion of a war; but it is definitely important that we place blame on IDEOLOGIES (like PNAC's "democracy-at-gunpoint" proto-Bush Doctrine) and SYSTEMS (like the monkeyed-with intelligence regime that "proved" Iraq had the firepower of the Second Death Tsar Bomba).

...and in so doing, maybe weed out people currently angling for the levers of power, lest they make the exact same mistakes you made by not learning from the mistakes made during Vietnam.

You'd think these farks would shut the hell up and stay out of the limelight for what they've done.  But no, here they are on the air again blaming Obama.

They need to stand trial at the Hague.
