Whatever derp the authors at Breitbart fail to exercise in their articles is more than compensated for in the comments.

Perhaps those posters should consider better derp portion control.

Admitting that she also struggled with feeding her children a proper diet.  F%cking elitist snob.

you mean nutrition ISN'T something the vast majority of americans know a damn thing about beyond what television commercials tell them?

SHOCKING.

Avoid red meat, eat chicken.
Avoid anything battered and fried.
Pizza is not a vegetable.
Ricecakes are a good substitute for bread.
Salsa is also not a vegetable.
Carrots and grapes are much better snacks than candy, nutrition and flavor-wise.
Do not drink "energy drinks".
Do not drink sodas, HFCS or not.
Most of the stuff on this list is okay to eat in moderation, you're just a Fatty McFatterson who doesn't know when to quit.

If he Ivy league education was in nutrition, then I can see an issue.

Unless the author's education gave him the knowledge of everything there is to know

I went to school for computers, that did not give me the knowledge to do gardening.  Some things you learn outside of a formal education.

Talk about a click bait headline:

Headline: MICHELLE OBAMA: I COULDN'T FEED MY KIDS RIGHT-EVEN WITH A HARVARD DEGREE

Article:  "Before coming to the White House, I struggled, as a working parent with a traveling, busy husband, to figure out how to feed my kids healthy, and I didn't get it right," she explained, sharing a story about her children's doctor who pulled her aside to talk about her family diet.
"I thought to myself, if a Princeton and Harvard-educated professional woman doesn't know how to adequately feed her kids, then what are other parents going through who don't have access to the information I have?" she recalled.

I know how to feed my kids a healthy diet. It's getting them to eat that healthy diet that is giving me problems. They will eat fresh fruit like it's going out of style, but if I put green vegetables down, they want me brought before the Hague on charges of crimes against humanity.

Cyrus the Mediocre: Avoid red meat, eat chicken.

Why not eat both?  At once.

Avoid anything battered and fried.

No, they're delicious!

Pizza is not a vegetable.

Says you!

Ricecakes are a good substitute for bread.

Not if you want it to taste good.

Salsa is also not a vegetable.

It has vegetables in it.

Carrots and grapes are much better snacks than candy, nutrition and flavor-wise.

OK, I'll give you that one.

Do not drink "energy drinks".

But, Red Bull gives me wings!

Do not drink sodas, HFCS or not.

Again, delicious!

My kids will eat lettuce and sometimes broccoli and carrots, no matter how well prepared, getting them to eat vegetables is harder than getting Jessica Alba to come over and give me a handy. The kids say vegetables are gross, nasty, whatever.

If they find a farking potato chip on the floor, they'll eat that shiat in a goddamn heartbeat. My daughter loves processed chicken "food" like nuggets and other nastiness. Give her a chicken breast? "I don't like chicken, it's yucky!" and no logic or reason can overcome that.

Oh man, those comments... Here's some of the better ones!

The wookie grazzing!

what do you expect? Her hubby is hung like a stud field mouse, so your right nothing has been in her throat.

Looks like obozo left some dog meat for mooochelle.

BTW she may not have been able to feed her children, but that wide load rear end of hers shows she never missed a meal.

Chapter 13, SCAM, by Jesse Peterson: Why Black Women Are So Mean

Like a character from Planet of the Apes. I guess that ages me - LOL. Feed the kids bananas - it is fruit, afterall.

This is what Republicans consider good humor.

To be fair, asparagus pee could be considered a form of chemical warfare.

LOL yeah. I remember reading the Kitty Kelley book (don't judge--I was driving a cab while I was in college and needed something I could put down easily) and I had so much fun with all the Nancy bashing.

She sure was easy to hate.

We would all do well to take a step back and look at the bigger picture here.

Given the mental capacity of her critics, Michelle is practically advocating cannibalism by encouraging kids to eat vegetables.  You'd be pretty pissed off too if the First Lady said you should be eaten by children.

Oddly enough, my three year old girl loves asparagus. I had her help me cook it one night (I usually roast it in the oven for about ten minutes drizzled with olive oil) and she loved it. She wants it all the time. I am positive this will not last.

You're on the right track but red meat has been largely demonized without comprehensive evidence, rice cakes really arent that good for you (you're better off making a lettuce wrap and eating wild rice on the side), and I dont know what is wrong with salsa. It usually is composed of chopped raw veggies. The problem is with all the fatty, fried and carb-loaded food that is paired with the salsa.

I wouldn't exactly call it free market when she's trying to influence lawmakers to support school lunch regulations and so on. Still, it amazes me what some cons focus on. Seriously, how myopic can people be?

I'm with you on everything but the red meat and rice cakes. Red meat from properly raised animals is fine, and so is its fat. Rice cakes are a poor substitute for anything except packing peanuts.

Eat real food slowly and mindfully until satisfied.

the issue isn't that she didn't know how to manage feeding her kids healthy food, it is that she basically chose her career over the needs of her family. If she wasn't rushing around dealing with her job then she would have ample time to prepare good meals and snacks for her kids. And this is basically the issue with Americans in general. When mom and or dad get home from a busy day at work and the kids are screaming for something to eat the easy thing to do is call for a pizza or bust out some prepackaged BS. Cooking requires time and effort. These are things that are in short supply for many parents

Perhaps if we weren't all running around killing ourselves trying to make a buck these things wouldn't be such a huge problem. But even 2 Harvard educated professionals felt the need to both be working to make ends meet for their family. Maybe thats the bigger takeaway

For the ricecakes, that depends on your goals.

If Salsa is your only "vegtable" you have a problem, but it is pretty hard to make that unhealthy...
