craigzy: i have a serious problem that i was hoping fark could help me with as ive never had to deal with something like this before.

a buddy of mine came into my house a couple weeks ago and i didnt notice he was wearing an old ManU Rooney away jersey until he was leaving and saw that horrid '10' on his back.

is there some sort of hex or incense or pagan ritual i can do to get rid of the essence, or can i act civil and remove this type of thing with an industrial-strength cleanser of some sort???

thx

We're all busy trying to get rid of the essence of the mere mention of such a thing on our monitors.
You're doomed.

It's the World Cup, anything related to Rooney will fade away without a trace.

Facebook is telling me Jozy Altidore is crushed after hamstring injury

I mean, I get it, its a letdown for the team that he won't be able to play, but you don't need to crush him. He's still useful as a waterboy or something.

Say "van Persie is a better striker" three times in each room the Rooney guy was at.

Witsel completely surprised by that wiff. Sad for Belgium.

I'd love to ask all these US fans the names of the players on the US squad.
All I see is a majority of bearded hipsters jumping up and down.  I want the US to win but I don't act like I'm a die hard fan.
Either way...soccer is fun to watch for World Cup...kinda like how I like watching baseball only when it's the post season.
go usa!

Either Americans realized soccer is badass or there's nothing sports wise on.

I heard two grocery stockers trying to explain soccer rules to each other this morning. Took a LOT of self control to not either butt in or start giggling :)

at least theyre trying.  the new generation coming up is much less murkkka-centric, and all the bars here (buffalo ny - where bills and sabres are religion and we are actually north of some parts of southern ontario), were overflowing into the streets yesterday during the match.

the shift is happening, but you gotta give people time.

Killer Cars: midpoint: Belgium not looking like a team. Loosely associated collection of individuals.

So, a team playing three Tottenham players is looking a lot like Tottenham this past season?

That's cold.

Dude, it won't kill a single bracket because who doesn't have Group H being wiped out by Group G in the round of 16 anyway?

marius2: Have the US fans gone back to not caring about futbol yet?

You know, I'd be upset about your attitude towards US fans if it weren't for the fact USA '94 did something even Germany 2006 couldn't do:   sell out every stadium.

So, you can go on with your smugness about US fans when your country couldn't sell out the World Cup

A lot of people had Belgium going as far as the semis. Why? I dunno. But they were a popular dark horse pick.

Team USA actually played and won last night.
