I will tell y'all what I tell my students: Grammar has three categories - Rules, exceptions, and patterns. Learn the rules so you can recognize the exceptions so you can follow the patterns.

If you're uneducated, which some are, then perhaps.

Most of us had an education, proper puncuation isn't a difficulty; we love the versatility it provides.

Sorry, subby!
U mad?

I have hyper-concerns that I over-use hyphens. They used to be more-popular. Perhaps they are making a come-back.

The chart gets the apostrophe symbol wrong.

This is an apostrophe: '
This is a beginning single quote: '

Think of sixes and nines. A beginning quote mark should be heavier on the bottom, like a six. An apostrophe or ending quote mark should be heavier on the top, like a nine. 69 and you're fine.

Let's try this again:

Apostrophe: ❜
Not an apostrophe: ❛
