(ESPN)   Will Wade show off more of his defensive prowess? Should the Spurs start their bench just to make things fair for a half? Hopefully Miami's had enough rest to play a whole game. This is your Game 5 NBA Finals thread (8pm EDT)   (espn.go.com) divider line 616

When you are going for the triple double and you feel some butt trouble, diarrhea, diarrhea
When you play with Wade, and your sphincter goes concave, diarrhea, diarrhea
When you slam the ball home, and you feel a twinkee roll, diarrhea, diarrhea

They just looked like a wreck over the last two games, and this is from a Miami fan. But I love the way that the Spurs are winning, and will not fault them for playing superior games.

Miami, did you pay attention? Will you increase your ball movement? How about grow or recruit some new young talent in the offseason, some defensive stars to pick up Wade's minutes?

And please think twice about picking up Carmelo Anthony.

They quit against Dallas. They'll quit again.

Peter von Nostrand: They quit against Dallas. They'll quit again.

Oh sure, that's the pattern, they quit in the Finals. Like two years ago, when they let the first game slip against the Thunder. Or last year against the Spurs, when they were a game behind heading into Game 6.

I understand you may hate the Heat. It's the vogue thing. But come with logic if you please. Pick on their age, that's valid. Or their below-average bench, abysmal off-season acquisitions, lack of ball movement, flopping tendencies, or odd defensive choices: they're all valid too. Otherwise, you're just another idiot like the one who chants, "LEBRON IS THE MAN, HE'LL WIN IT ALL"

Anyone see James's comments on sportscenter. It's really hard to get a read for it all. At some points, he sounded like a guy who was just plain tired and beat (and was okay with that because more to life than basketball) but on the other side, there was just enough wink wink nudge nudge in his comments to make me think he tries to drop 15 in the 1st and do a lot of drive/kick to get the role players going tonight.

Or they'll be inspired to send Battier out with a title.

Not really a fair assessment.  They make up for their lack of rim protecting bigs by blitzing the PnR, forcing the pass instead of guard penetration.  J.J. Barea was able to work through it and it opened up all kinds of offensive opportunities.  This year, some of the players that were relied on no longer can blitz successfully (Battier & Haslem) which gives Parker better passing options, while forcing Wade and Allen to play more defense.

There's a difference between quitting and getting beat.

I said they quit once before. Not every time. Perhaps a little less mountain dew or monster energy drinks will do you some good.

Interestingly enough, I had just enjoyed a coffee. And a line of coke. But I'm sure nether of those could be an issue.

Spurs win, Duncan retires, Lebron goes to the Wolves

Expect the Heat to clinch tonight.  There's a rule in the NBA Rulebook that if you have 55 points with 5:55 remaining in Game 5, you automatically win the Finals.  Prove me wrong.

No three titles for LeBron. He'll never be Jordan. You know who has the same amount of titles as LeBron, Adam Morrison.

I like LeBron as a player but allez Spurs. Their passing is just too beautiful, and ils sont très avides. The gratuitous French is in recognition of the fact that the World Cup is going on and this is the only thing the French are going to win during it.

Dallas had a better coach. PG, PF, C, and bench than Miami. Disgusts me that they still get no credit for that title.

The only fix that occurred between Dallas and Miami happened in 2006.

Miami is on to something with this whole "hope they miss everything" approach to SA's offense.  That should work.

Could barely stay awake for the NASCAR race earlier, and now can't even get TV for the game.

Gonna have to rely on you guys for the info! (Unless I fall asleep... Both dad and bro got bronchitis and dad is also hit with a sinus infection and I just picked up something last Friday and been sleeping 90% of this weekend away... It sucks)

HA!  Never even touched him! lol

Three on two? fark it, one on two... for the and-one. LeBron in full on not-farking-around mode. Spurs need to step it up, they've looked a little passive.

1-11 to start. Awful.

2014-06-15 08:25:40 PM
Oh yeah, LeBron still exists.
