But what makes a holiday a holiday is how humans choose to go about celebrating it, which is entirely made up through customs and traditions.

If I decided to drop acid and dance the night away every full moon, no one is going to say that I created the full me (except maybe me because I'm on acid), but people would certainly be like "hey, this retard made up a stupid custom for every full moon"

That is pretty much exactly how all of these traditions start.  One wackjob does something on a periodic basis.  Eventually others join in and in a hundred years it becomes a homogenized pile of Hallmark goodness and no one even remembers how it started.  Christmas (winter solstice festival) is the perfect example of this.

Let's see today I've:
-change multiple diapers including two poopy ones
-mowed the lawn
-paid all the bills for this week
-unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher
-done one load of laundry

Besides the BJ from the wife to wake me up, today is no different than any other Sunday.

Which means discerning people have to question intent.

The intent is the same as for Mother's Day: "to artificially create a market for little pieces of cardboard with sappy cliches and/or poop jokes on them, and tangentially to reinforce stale gender stereotypes via discounts on household appliances."

Yeah I know a lot of transexuals that despise feminists for how they spew all their hate. It apparently is at least a very vocal part of feminist groups that think any man transitioning towards being a woman is just mocking all that it means to be a woman and pretty much worse than Hitler.
