It's a book tour. Having been on the publisher side of a book tour, this makes perfect sense because you are going to try as hard as possible to drive up publicity for the book explicitly, and the publisher is paying for the event.

It's not a public even, it's a private event held by a private company that is open to the public.  Not quite the same thing.

It'll be 2028.  Who thinks that far ahead?

She doesn't hold public office. She doesn't have to speak to the press if she doesn't want to. It's like getting mad at Marshawn Lynch.

Hey Conservatards: How many press conferences did Sarah Palin hold during the ENTIRE 2008 ELECTION?

A: Zero.

So how about on all things related to openness with the press, you drink a giant cup of SHUT THE F*CK UP? And throw in all references to the Iraq War and defense against terrorism while you're at it, you shameless lying pricks.

For her book tour she had Walmart security lock reporters in the back room.

The book alone pretty much seals the deal that she will be running in 2016. Politicians don't write books for the money, they write them as very long campaign ads to make themselves look as good as possible. Going as far back a Jimmy Carters "Why not the best" (and maybe earlier than that but I can't think of an example at the moment) onwards a book is essentially an unofficial declaration of candidacy. It's a way to air out any problems and put their own spin on it as to why they did no wrong. You don't do that if you're not looking to run because it's better to let sleeping dogs lie where they are instead of kicking them. A book early on gets things into, and then out of, the news cycle so that it's old news by the time that you actually run. It's a classic strategy and one that's worked in the past.

We know she wants to be president, and there is absolutely no f*cking way that being BY FAR the favored Dem nominee AND potentially being the first female president is something that Hillary is going to pass up.

Honestly, I wouldn't be that surprised. I'm not saying she isn't gonna run, but she does seem to have an air of "Holy hell I am tired of this shiat," about her.

In 2008, Biden held at least two press conferences, which is two more than Palin did, and did over 80 interviews. He also had a 35-year career in the Senate before running, with a long record of where he stood on the major issues. Caribou Barbie was completely unknown. She also never turned over her medical records, making her the only one in the race not to do that. Thanks for playing.

I really am curious, though. Do you have any evidence that says she's not running? Because there is a mountain of evidence that says she is:

- Book tour
- Her Super Pac is now manned by heavy-hitters from both the Clinton and Obama camps
- She's getting endorsements
- She is "evolving" on major issues like gay marriage, which she needs to shore up support
- She is already the favorite by a mile
- We know based on her past that she wants to be president

2014-06-14 02:17:56 PM
Is this the thread where her specious supporters insist that, since she hasn't "technically/officially" announced her candidacy--we all have to go through the charade of pretending that she ISN'T running for office right now and treat her as such?

What the hell are you talking about?  The media has been breathlessly reporting a completely baseless conspiracy theory against her (Benghazi) as a legitimate story despite ZERO supporting evidence for over a year.

It's like when people complain about how the media treats Obama, they conveniently leave out the part where for 6 years they refused to call birtherism what it was: white supremacy.

She ISN'T running for office right now. Does she have a campaign? Headquarters? Anything? No?

Then yes, we can treat her as if she is not running for President because she isn't.

She has more money than god. She's tried and failed. The campaign trail can run you into a goddamn drooling retard.

She's done it all. The only way she would do it is if she is not sure the Dems can put up a winning candidate.

I think Biden can win if he wants it. The GOP doesn't have anyone I'm scared of.

If it were 2008? Yeah, sure. But, they are the Teatards now. They can't win on  the national stage.

She's going to enjoy her grandchild and embrace retirement.

For once the far-right negativity chamber might have an actual point instead of a Benghazi. She SHOULD make herself more accessible unlike 2007-2008 where she did private fatcat fundraisers for 150 rather than speak to 15000 at a campaign ralley.

On the other hand fu😱ck you Breitbart she's out to sell books, not listen to you Benghaziing her.

one of these day there is going to be a poll of folks like me. old white guys who got turned off being a republican because jesus and uncalled for wars and some other stuff but who wouldn't be "liberals" if the goal posts hadn't moved so far. and if the republicans can find a here to fore unknown (cuz the current guys are shiat) moderate and run him she's toast.

My feelings exactly. I'm not exactly thrilled with the idea of Hillary as president, but I'd gladly vote for her over any current GOP front runners.

It's the same way I feel about Obama. Not particularly thrilled with him, but I'd take him over Rmoney or McCain any day.

Uh-huh...I guess it's just a matter of time before there's a Hillary version of the WhatHasObamaDome website for people who don't think that she's done anything.  By the way, if the GOP hadn't prioritized their hatred of the Clintons over doing the right thing, we wouldn't have Obamacare.  We'd have Hillarycare.
