Gotta love that ACC/SEC rivalry thing those two teams got going on. And methinks that the 'Canes didn't think their cunning plan all the way through.

/'Canes found to have violated NCAA rules by Florida Gators staff and reported in 3... 2... 1...

The rivalry has nothing to do with the ACC, strange Miami went to complete shiat once they joined that conference.

I'd argue Spurrier always runs a pretty clean program. Everyone else, eh. Not so much.

You argue that but it wouldn't be true, Spurrier just insulates himself from proof, which is why he's smart. There were rumblings for years he was getting benefits to recruits in Florida and then the "rock hill" connection that was rumored but couldn't be proven in SC.

Squeaky clean he's not but then very few are, Richt is the closest since he simply boots players off the team for offenses other teams would cover up or sweep under the rug.

Actually half water and half gatorade is recommended here by someone who told me... and I know they're smart cause they've been sleeping in a van down by the holiday express!

Don't kid yourself.  Everybody runs dirty programs.  It's just a question of degree.

The Lizards are notoriously nasty on the recruiting trail.  It's why I laughed at that bullshiat on Deadspin months back about Muschamp being some kind of Last Honest Man on the recruiting trail.

Everybody cheats.  (Yes, my team cheats too.  Nothing holier-than-thou here.)  Even places where the coach isn't really scummy -- you guys come to mind -- have shadow boosters doing the dirty work.   Most teams keep their mouths shut about it, because in most cases MAD principles apply.  They all know the actors and the territories.

My guess is the Lizards just pissed Miami off one too many times.

What puzzles me is why they think it'd work.  Of all the big-name teams in the Southeast, UF is the one with the coach who's obviously on the hot seat.  Golden's not going anywhere, but Muschamp's chances of surviving another year are pretty slim.  The negative recruiting isn't even necessary against them.

It's not an SEC/ACC thing.  It's a recruiting thing.

Rest assured the ACC teams have no desire to see UM embarrass itself by pretending it's still 1987 and they can hang with anybody.  They got an unexpected -- and, frankly, undeserved even given Driskel's incompetence -- win last year (which was great), but we don't want the Tropical Depressions pushing their luck.  Let FSU and Clemson handle the big OOC games.  Maybe VaTech is they ever figure out the sun has set on Beamer and finally let Foster fix it.
