All those far right-wing nut jobs are 100% convinced the DNC will try and take their guns away anyways.  Those turd munchers will never vote DNC anyways.  The only think important is what the people in the middle of the political spectrum think about reasonable gun control.

I predict (with the complete backing of statisticals) that his losses in 2014 will activate a little known clause on the constitution (written on the back) that forces him to step down and be replaced by a triumverate of a bussiness leader, a church leader and a military leader.

Because if Obama resigned, Republicans wouldn't have used that blood in the water and turned it into a frenzy of "We were right," "We told you so," "We can get a president to resign," and "You don't want to vote for losers, do you?"

Neil Munro is a hilarious writer. I'd love to see him do his craft. I wonder if he cackles the whole time, amused by the shiat he is spewing forth or if he has a stern righteousness, thinking to himself, "There! That will nail those corrupt usurper!" Either way, this guy is the best.

Everybody conveniently forgets Columbine wasn't intended as a mass shooting.  It was intended as a mass bombing, and they were just going to shoot those attempting to flee.

2 propane bombs could have killed or maimed 500

And yet I can still buy propane tanks at any hardware and many gas stations.  Where are the calls to ban propane tanks?

common sense

My favorite gun control phrase.  It means "I can't believe everyone else doesn't agree with my opinion."

I'm no master debater, but maybe "they never intended to shoot everyone, it just turned out it was easier that way" isn't your best line of argument.

I think most improved gun control advocates are happy for sane non-criminals to have firearms to hunt with and for personal security.  We realize hunting or protecting your home with exploding propane tanks has its complications.

Sadly it tempts the people that until recently avoided owning guns to finally buy them. I'm not saying all new gun owners are nitwits, but those that are new to firearm ownership often do not have a lifetime of experience when it comes to firearm responsibility and safety.

I didn't say it was easier; their bombs didn't go off.  But that doesn't invalidate that propane tanks are still readily available with little to no 'propane control'. The largest school killing still remains a bombing. The article I linked said the death count could have been 500 if those bombs had exploded.  I'm not endorsing bombs or shooting - just that people are blaming half of their killing devices as inherently evil and completely ignoring the other half just because they didn't work.

Pretty much. While I don't see these guns as being part of mass shootings, I do see the possibility of more accidental discharges because safe behavior is less ingrained. Just my humble opinion.

Those people are participating in the political process less and less. There was a recent study on it. Both parties seem to be driven by increasingly partisan voter bases who are more ideologically driven and less likely to agree with the opposition's position on any issues. People in the middle of the political spectrum are becoming less participatory in the political process. We as a country are being run by rabid partisans.

Democrats should throw this election anyways, to the degree that the senate doesn't get a veto-proof or impeachment majority. At worst we suffer through some years where nothing gets done - which is what's going to happen regardless. At best we let Republicans derp it up on the national stage to take advantage of the rebound effect during the presidential election.

Can propane tanks be used for some purpose other than killing? That might have something to do with it. Also, propane tanks are regulated. If you try to get an old propane tank refilled, you are probably out of luck. They can't refill any tanks that don't have the new safer valve. What new mandatory safety features have been implemented on firearms?

"Australia did this" + "We can't even do background checks" ≠ "I want to ban semi-autos."  Care to provide a quote where he actually says what you and the article's headline claim, because I didn't see it anywhere.
