Since there was a Florida tag on the car, you could have used it here, subby.

CNN will now send their field reporter (the guy who was previously sitting in the flight simulator and then the under water remote vehicle simulator) to sit in a crash test simulator, with a crash test dummy for the next few weeks.

I think subby made the right call. Florida tag didn't work as well as Obvious tag with the headline

Not many people know that the huge building that now houses CNN was originally built as a Sid & Marty Krofft amusement park. When the place closed down, Ted Turner bought it up and moved out of CNN's original HQ which was once a Country Club.

It's CNN, so are we going to get 24/7 coverage of this crash( and what lead up to it) on TV?

Was it as "trippy" (even by 70's standards) as legend described it?

Well, that was an anchor tenant of the Omni (which was what the building was called before Ted Turner bought it), but they didn't build the Omni just for that. It was an office building with a shopping mall in the atrium, a multiplex movie theater, a skating rink, and that truly weird amusement park.

I moved to Atlanta in 1980, and the original Underground was nearly dead from the MARTA construction. The Omni was pretty much the only teenager-friendly entertainment venue ITP. Puf-n-Stuff had already closed by then, sadly.

"Officers found the driver in possession of marijuana," Chafee said, adding that the man admitted to officers that he had smoked marijuana earlier.

Have you ever crashed into the lobby of CNN Center, on weed?

CSB -

I was a graphics intern at CNN over 20 years ago. I got to talk with a few of the Headline News anchors, who were more approachable than the CNN bunch upstairs. It shaped my opinion on how it's more about show business than journalism (especially today).

There were a lot of weirdos hanging around the CNN Center atrium and just outside the doors. Funniest thing I saw - a young black man was trying to sell me a gold necklace while I was eating lunch downstairs in the courtyard. Just as he was really getting annoying, a security guard (a young black woman) hustled him right out the door.

That was back when the WCW headquarters was on the ground floor, next to the Lake Chiorpractic Clinic.  (God, I wish I still had a picture of that).

I actually went to that chiropractor for one adjustment. It was ok, but I really didn't need his whole sales pitch.

Yes, WCW was there! I remember meeting some "writers" for the show. I actually said to them out loud "What! Wrestling needs writers? What for?"

The Braves sucked so bad in the mid and late '80s that they traded 10 20th-row season-ticket seats right behind home plate for advertising in the Georgia State student newspaper. We had a hard time getting staffers to use them.

To be fair, CNN and HLN didn't suck the way they do now when Ted sold them in 1996. Blame the corporate weasels at Time-Warner.

I was in high school at that time.  I used to take MARTA to the Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium and do my homework on top of the dugout.  Tickets cost something like $4 or $5.  So, I did my homework with a baseball game going on in the background.

Good times.
