propasaurus: United Health Programs of America and its parent company, Cost Containment GroupWTF?I worked for a small retail boutique some 30+ years ago where the managers were heavy into EST. They insisted that all employees attend EST training seminars and would have mandatory weekly 'sharing' session.
Sudo_Make_Me_A_Sandwich: From the Onionhead: "We are what we feel. We never need to separate ourselves from our true feelings, no matter where we are or what we are doing. When we have a healthy relationship with our emotions, we foster a greater connection to ourselves, our family, our friends, our classmates and our business associates. We come to understand that our sensitivity and vulnerability are our strengths and not our weaknesses. The younger we start knowing ourselves, the better chance we have of living our full potential. It is not enough to know what we feel; we must know what to do with those feelings."The whole thing is just walls of text that read like a pinterest board.

Bill_Wick's_Friend: Trance750: That whole thing sounds like it's a page out of ScientologyI found the paragraph you just quoted on the world's most terribly designed website:http://www.harnessinghappiness.org/aboutus.aspxIt's a seriously giant pile of flaky new-age bullshiat mixed in with random religious elements, but it's nowhere near as slick as Co$ or EST/Landmark/Ehrhard.I'm sure L Ron on his yacht or The Bagwahn cruising Rashneeshpuram in a Rolls Royce is what they aspire to be. Dare to dream, flaky cult-of-personal-empowerment people. Dare to dream.

Nabb1: MaudlinMutantMollusk: Someone is just NOW filing suit?/rodent odor detectedNo, complaints were probably filed with the EEOC many months ago. Those things take time and then if the EEOC concludes the law was broken, the EEOC then takes on the matter in the courts.
LordOfThePings: Poe's Law?What is Onionhead? It is not what is Onionhead - it is who is Onionhead? Onionhead is this incredibly pure, wise and adorable character who teaches us how to name it - claim it - tame it - aim it. Onion spelled backwards is 'no-i-no'.
a particular individual: My local Hardee's had a big, construction-paper sign in the kitchen that you could see from the drive-through:HAVE YOU PATHED TODAY?DISCOVER THE POWER OF PATHINGAlways seemed pretty cultish to me. It's not there anymore. I've wondered if management changed, or if there was a similar employee complaint./Hardee's sucks
Tommy Moo: I'm a bit confused. It says they were required to pray and thank God for their jobs, but then it says that they put a Buddha statue in the woman's office. So... are they fundamentalist Buddhists? I didn't think Buddhism was a monotheistic religion. Are there Buddhists who literally think that Siddhartha Guatama was God incarnate, and must be prayed to? Or are these fundie Christians who were mocking her with the statue?
FizixJunkee: MaudlinMutantMollusk:It's the "going on since 2007" that bothers meMaybe someone couldn't afford to lose their job during the recession, so they toughed it out?
Prey4reign: As a small business owner who forces his employees to worship Pumpkinhead I'm getting a big kick out of this thread.
trappedspirit: My last job required that I worship a supreme deity or deities with some established cannons of doctrine and/or holy writings or denounce the existence of any supreme being and go full atheist but that if I ever showed up with an agnostic attitude I was going to be written up.
