I hope this ends the LeBron debate once and for all.  Michael Jordan never beat a team as good as this one.

It is insane how efficient the Spurs are on offense.

If Pop was that kind of coach he might have been able to challenge the Bulls total win record.

IAmRight: A Fark Handle: cameroncrazy1984: IAmRight: Hyjamon: wow, nice shot of the crowd leaving before the game ends.

Why would you stay to watch your team get killed? And don't give me that "chance of coming back" crap since you've watched the last two games.

Because good fans stay til the end no matter what.

that's not true.  there are much better things to do instead of making yourself miserable watching a team get kicked in the nuts.  if it's 20+ point with 3 minutes you can leave.  actually you probably should.

and what's the point of being a good fan when the team doesn't give a fark about you other than how to separate you from your money?

Being "a good fan" is all about making others feel good about you with zero consideration for how much it makes things worse for you.

Basically, it's for suckers.

Being a good fan is about the sense of community you have with other people who like the same thing. It has zero to do with how personally you can't handle losing.

Sure thought Miami would come out and match the Spurs, but the Spurs have too much skill. Wade was nonexistent and Bosh faded away after the first quarter. I've seen crazier things as a Red Sox fan, but this series looks like it's over in 5.

Clearly you're a fan of the wrong team.

so which nba team cares about the fans?  they all say it until they threaten to move the team to seattle or okc unless you give them ALL the money.  or perhaps you want me to believe duke loves you and can't wait to watch a sunset with you after a tough loss to mercer?

Pumpernickel bread: I am truly surprised by this.  I thought after Miami stole home court advantage, it was over for the Spurs as they couldn't win a single away game against OKC.  They could still piss it away, but it seems unlikely.

Lebron is never gonna live that carried off the court shiat down and hopefully this will end the Lebron v. Jordan debate once and for all.

Dude, the Spurs clinched their series IN Oklahoma City.  Them winning in Miami shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone.

Yeah they don't like to have Friday/Saturday night games because their money is predicated on TV and those days don't get ratings.

Meanwhile, minor league sports LOVE Friday/Saturday night games because their money is predicated on attendance and that's the best night to get people going out.

I do feel like someone should tell the Heat "hey, you're going to be exhausted going into next year anyway because you're STILL not really getting any more time off; you might as well try to win a couple games - if you needed the break you should've tanked Round 2"

Spurs are probably playing the greatest team basketball I've seen in my lifetime.    Maybe the 85 Celtics, but while the Celtics maybe had better players, the Spurs ball movement is unparalleled.    Big, small, 3 percentage, post, penetration kickout, there's no weaknesses.

2014-06-13 12:39:52 AM
Rick Carlisle should get automatically inducted into the HOF just for taking a team with a declining Dirk, Jae Crowder, Samuel Dalembert and the zombie corpses of Vince Carter and Shawn Marion and taking the Spurs to 7 games.

It's been a waaaambulance fest from the beginning, and the Fark modmins didn't help by refusing to greenlight several threads of Spurs matchups in in these playoffs they estimated wouldn't draw any interest. How the f*ck do you not greenlight a conference finals thread?

LeBron is a great player and a nice guy, but he's not MJ. But perhaps the NBA is just setting us up to see a team come back from a 3-1 deficit in the history of bullshiat. Who knows.

2014-06-13 01:12:53 AM
None of this is on LeBron.  The Heat are a decaying team.  Their role players are old and decrepit, they're the oldest team in the league, and the moves they made to get Beasley and Oden didn't pan out at all.  They just ran into a team that's been dreaming about them for an entire year that is historically deep and well coached.

LeBrons biggest problem is that he has no desire to be a leader. He just wants to play and have a yes man as a coach. But as in Cleveland when the chips are down his teams are so so so rotten. Kobe, Bird, Magic and Jordan can rally the troops. LeBron doesn't want that responsibility. He will be remembered as a great player but I have my doubts as one of the greatest

Yea, the only problem with that is there are 29 other teams who were "dreaming" about the same thing and only one could put themselves in the position to actually do it. Compiling the best regular season record in the league and pushing the trophy holder to a 3-1 deficit in the Finals is no dream, it's what a champion does.

And to say the Heat are a decaying team, as if that's an excuse, is absurd. This notion that the Spurs are old has been thrown out for years, but I don't remember anyone making excuses for them. In fact, Pops took a $50,000 fine for letting Duncan, Parker and Ginobili fly home rather than play the Heat a couple years ago. and listed them on the play sheet as "old guys" as to why they didn't play. LOL.

No, nobody makes excuses. The Spurs are the best team simply because they are, regardless of what the TV audience says.

When the team loses in the regular season it's the players' fault. When they lose in the playoffs it's coach's fault.

Tough call. Seattle's almost too enamored with their all consuming hatred for the Thunder. If they take Miami's team, they might actually have to focus on supporting a team consistently instead of just supporting whatever team the Thunder is currently playing against.

Heat fans strike me as a bootleg knockoff version of Laker fans. They go to the games, hoping to be seen on TV,
But at least Laker fans don't leave the first level empty with 5 minutes left.

Hell, Jack Nicholson and Spike Lee may be incredibly obnoxious at the Lakers and Knicks games, but they'll stick around till the final buzzer even when their team is getting curb stomped.

Your first graph makes no sense.  The Spurs are the team that can do this, and they've been posed since last year.

Rest of it, i said this isn't LeBrons fault.  SA is exposing the rest of the team for what it is.  There's no way a single player can beat these guys right now.

This whole idea that Lebron has to do it by himself and the Heat are old is total BS.

The Heat cruise controlled through the regular season, did well against the west, cruised through the east, but now all of a sudden are too old.

No, the Spurs are a better team, plain and simple.  They were the better team last year too, just choked it up in game 6.

This is true since I was one of the ones begged/illuminated to this fact and have begun to submit them myself (if I don't see one already)

also gonna try to do this for the 4 o'clock games come NFL season...kind of annoying to scroll thru 2000 comments from the first round of games to talk about a game that started at 4:25
