regindyn: IAmRight: LeBron with 19 on fewer shots than it's taken his team to score 2.

Yet he will get made fun of for this loss.

Michael would've willed his team to victory!

Sorry, just reading copy from tomorrow's script of hot sports takes.

admittedly, this game/series doesn't help the conversation/comparison between the two

Also, can we talk about Duncan as one of the five greatest players ever now?

2014-06-12 11:08:29 PM
Tim retires, Pop stays on to coach ...... Lebron in San Antonio.

2014-06-12 11:08:54 PM

TheManofPA: IAmRight: Put Aron Baynes in so he can outscore Wade. Doesn't need to be long, just has to get a couple buckets.

Someone needs to post the picture so I know who Aron Baynes is

I'll take the case!

Haslem, wow. Is Oden still on the team? When is he coming in?

Beasley looks stoned on the bench... and why not?

Who?

Is LeBron crying? It looked like he was wiping tears away....

JVG:  "Miami might just not have enough."

How does he come to that farking conclusion?

Ooh, surprised Wade didn't hit the deck on that.

2014-06-12 11:10:27 PM
Good god, Chalmers, Cole, and Wade are on the court.

This could get to a 50-point lead.

I'm generally pro-Spo, but that lineup is just...no.

Things ive learned from the playoffs this year: Rick Carisle is the most criminally underrated coach in the league.

At this rate the Heat are going to be excited to not have a 2-3-2 series.

So this series was one garbage call in Game 2 from being a sweep.  That's a shame.

That's basically "the Rock" pic for these NBA finals

Okay, Pop should call a TO right here. You don't want them getting any sembleance of confidence to pull within 15 with 8 min left. You don't want your stars to have to come back in and risk injury because they aren't ready

JVG: "You don't wanna give Dwayne Wade that mid-range jumper and those free throws"

...in a 20 point game?

I think most of us realize how good he is.

Remember when everybodys narrative was the Heat never lose two in a row in the playoffs?

That narrative was just found hanging in the closet dead of autoderprotic asphyxiation.

He got Monta Ellis to take non-dumb shots.  He's a mastermind.

That was really one of the big shames of that 2011 Finals. The talk was all about Lebron and the Heat blowing it, and not about how well Rick coached, and the Mavs played.

Oh FFS Ginobili hit an uncontested three at the buzzer to make the game look closer.

I kind of want that quesarito now.

2014-06-12 11:16:56 PM
Haslem and Cole are the only Heat players that have a positive plus/minus right now, both at +4. Lebron, Lewis, Ray, Bosh, and Chalmers are all -10 or worse. Wade -5.

Green is the only spur in the negative. Manu is +25 right now.

Rick Carlisle is probably the second best coach in the league, hopefully Dirk has a few good years left and we don't have to play the damn Spurs in the first round again.

Was that a Patty Mills imitating Fred moment, it looked weak on contact

Maybe we'll find out that Virgin Islands is a reverse Dominican Republic and Duncan is only 33 years old

I have to say, the crowd has hung in there far better than last night's. The boos were bad, but last night was closer and more people were leaving at this point. We'll see what happens next TV timeout

Jordan, Russell, Abdul-Jabbar, Bird, Magic, Chamberlain. Who's he better than? I have him #7.

I started to see a lot of folks standing up at the cut aways to the commercial, it will be a ghost land in no time now

In fairness, double-doubles are stupid stats that are really only even sort of significant for centers and maybe PFs.

Palmer Eldritch: PowerSlacker: Also, can we talk about Duncan as one of the five greatest players ever now?

The discussion is probably Bird. Jordan/Russel are untouchable. Wilt is probably a safe three. Kareem than Magic. If Spurs had won last year AND closed this in 5, Duncan passes Bird and serious consideration past Magic. As is, he probably can't pass Magic. He could be discussed past Bird, but his quiet nature versus the legendary status/mythos of Bird hurts him

Mind you at that level, it's all a stat circle jerk anyhow but that's what's fun about sports (unless you have to eat the JVG cookie)
