(USA Today)   You know those little factoids baseball teams put on the Jumbotron? Nothing beats the Houston Astros AA affiliate's "his father Carlos hit HR that bounced off Jose Canseco's damn head on 5/26/93"   (ftw.usatoday.com) divider line 17

The real story here is that there is a "Whataburger Field".

I was really hoping the scoreboard actually said "his damn head."

Son, I am disappoint.

Besides the Mets winning the World Series in '86 that is my favorite moment in the history of baseball.

Canseco was so clownshoes that year. Pretty sure it was he same season he pitched an inning of relief for no reason and blew out his arm

I'm sorry you're not old enough to have watched it happen. Those really were good times.

Whataburger was founded in Corpus Christi, so it makes sense that they'd buy the naming rights to the Corpus Christi baseball field.

When asked about it after the game Canseco said something along the lines of "I'm a complete entertainer."

Three days after the head bounce homer Canseco pitched the eighth inning in a game against Boston resulting in two hits, three walks, three earned runs, Tommy John surgery.

Wouldn't Houston's AA team be considered an A team?

Mine is Robin Ventura attempting to fight Nolan Ryan.

Ventura did not "attempt" to fight Ryan.  He did fight him.  And beat the ever-loving crap out of Ryan's right hand with his face.  Ventura was trying to take Ryan out of the game...that's why he went after the right hand like that.

/Also my favorite moment in the history of baseball.
//Was actually in the crowd for the Canseco head-bounce HR.

Who is Teodoro Martinez?   I'll take juicers for $600, Alex.
