I'm not religious in the slightest bit but that's asinine pointing out that they are "faith based" in an article about them not allowing thongs.  *NO* park in Texas, that I know of, allows thongs - SplashTown, Schlitterbahn...

2014-06-12 10:48:29 AM
Circa 1990 you'd see women wearing thong swimsuits in public once in a while, but it hasn't really been a fashion thing for more than 20 years, has it? Please confirm or deny, someone.

(Sure, I bet thongs are offered for sale online somewhere, maybe that Weasel place is still in business. You can buy anything online. I'm talking about trends.)

I think that even women with perfect bodies look better in a traditional bikini bottom anyway.

Those ridges in the tube slides would be murder on the balls.

The Schlitterbahn parks here in Texas do just fine with alcohol. They have damn good lifeguards.

TheGreatGazoo: Thongs on waterslides tend to have 'accidents'.

What's wrong with denim other than the threads clog up the filters?

A lot of denim jeans have rivets at various points. Those tend to scratch up the slide surface.

Birkenstocks -  aka Jesus-slippers; aka laughing stock.

Don't be caught dead wearing them near the beach around here, folks will crucify you.

Denim and alcohol were also mentioned as banned.  Also commonly banned for good reasons.  Denim (frayed cutoffs assumed) can harm the machinery.  Mixing alcohol with waterslides, pools, crowds... not a good idea.

Yup, alcohol and frat boys have pretty much ruined tubing on the Guadalupe.  People just don't know how to behave in public anymore.  Having a good time does not mean you have to be an annoyance to everybody else.

It's a "faith-based" park in that the owners have faith that invoking deities will get you subsidies and tax exemptions. Because Texas.

It is obvious that the hairy Kazakhstani gentleman in the middle is too revealing, but are the fine young whores ladies swimsuits too revealing as well?

I agree with you. I really don't think they are very popular anymore. Probably because of the fact that about 1% of the population actually looks good in one.

CSB time...my wife and I are friends with another couple. The female of the other couple is extremely attractive - smoking hot. Anyway, we went to the lake with them for a weekend once. I've got to admit, I was way fired up to see her in a bikini. Anyway, she wore a thong on one of the days and even as hot as this woman is, it still just didn't look that good. Her regular bikini was way sexier.

it's appears to be business, not a church, the donation form on the website is for nonprofits to request donations(probably just for free access and reduced prices on food.)

As they are built for kids, all waterparks should ban thongs.

I've never been to a waterpark that allows thongs and denim.

Or, if you are like most members of my family... they like to complain about the people who are wearing one that is exposed... like when on a motorcycle, e.g....however the people who are doing the complaining are those that you absolutely would NOT want to ever see in a thong... under any circumstances!!

That's the WTF issue. Every water park I've been to had a dress code. I've never heard of a private one funded by public bonds.

The ink bleeds, they can be a safety issue (denim gets heavy even it gets wet), and it looks trashy.

I find it amusing that a waterpark with a ban on revealing clothing is opening in a town called Brazoria.
