Let me go on record saying that I liked the PT Cruiser because of its retro styling.

What I didn't like was that it was a Chrysler product, which meant that it would start falling apart around
50K.

^This

I had one the first year of production and loved that car so much... just too bad it wasn't built to last. Started *really* falling apart around 75k miles and was in the repair shop almost every month, then I knew it was time to get something new.

Word. Except on mine, it lasted to 80k. Then the transmission basically disintegrated, along with some other issues. I decided to go the "spend $5k and keep it for another few years" route. I know it has a horrible reputation, but it's the perfect car for my needs. And dammit, I do indeed like the way it looks. Screw you haters.

While on a vacation a few years ago, I stayed at a hotel which was hosting some sort of PT Cruiser club.  The parking lot was full of gaudy, stupid cars, and the owners were invariably obese.

I didn't think it was possible to make the PT Cruiser look even worse.
