I would only by a haunted house if I had a Great Dane.

I'd spend 5 mill upgrading the house, seems like a to the studs tear down and renovation.

But you couldnt pay me enough to live on Staten Island.

I counted 1 bathroom, and other than that, it's a shait-hole.

Part of it's renovated and the rest is old.  That would be really cool.  I'm a little shy on the down payment though.

Might be worth it if you had a home business, and you needed some free labor. You could enslave the ghosts, ghouls and goblins. I don't think labor laws apply to the undead...

I'm pretty sure I've had nightmares about this house, and this is the first time I've seen these pictures... I saw that stairwell and it kind of made me sick to my stomach...

Lovely corbells.
And I could cook on that stove year round.

Yup, it's a wreck.  And since there's no such thing as a ghost, it's not really haunted.  And you'd have to live in New York.  And it's expensive.  Why would anyone buy this?

I think I'll keep my bigger house in a warm climate that costs 1/7 as much.

ROFL as a great dane owner, let me be the first to disappoint you and say that in the event of an emergency/haunting/burglar, most danes would probably go to sleep.  Or eat, then sleep.

House looks nice.  Way over priced.  But could be redone if someone had the skills and the money to do so.

They create more than they solve, things like "What in the HELL is that smell?!" and "My pizza was here just a second ago...".

How much for the house if it's not haunted?

Because it isn't.

2014-06-12 11:58:21 AM
1. Just STOP selling houses where "haunted" is considered a "feature".

2. Staten Island? Blech.

I've always thought it would be pretty awesome to have a house like that and 5-10 kids. Seems like an awesome place to adventure around when you're in that 5-15 age span, lots of nooks and crannies, but I'd probably waste some space and throw in some fun secret passage type remodels.

I mean, if I have 1.7m for the house surely I could throw in some fun remodels. Like a tunnel. And a book case door.

Rather than renovate, I think it might be cheaper to just wallpaper the entire house inside and out with $100 bills.

/is that the house that Jake Chambers ported through?

2014-06-12 12:13:46 PM
Well, it's not actually haunted, since there is no such thing. And it is on Staten Island, which -- although the island itself is a pretty crappy place -- is awesomely located insofar as getting to other places.

/anyone yet point out that it's not haunted? am i the first?

I'd be scared to live in a famous haunted house--the place would be crawling with tourists.

I guess old means eerie these days. I'd live there, if I had the bucks and wanted to live near New York.
/now that's a scary idea.
