And from Goehmert, you were expecting...???

Goehmert reminds me of a Jackson family joke by a Comedian (forget who) who said that Latoya was known as "the crazy one" and the question was how crazy would you have to be in the Jackson family to get that label.

I think the analogy with Goehmert and the Tea Party is obvious.

2014-06-11 02:49:48 PM
So Mr.  Goehmert when are you planning to walk away from your money andprivileged position to follow Jesus and share the good news?

So Karl Rove would be Joe Jackson - the abusive father living out his dreams of power through his children
Sarah Palin would obviously be Janet - the daughter who for a moment got out from under her fathers thumb and became a superstar but without his controlling influence flamed out as it became apparent how crazy she was
Bill OReilly - would be Marlon the older brother frustrated that his younger brother has the spotlight
Sean Hannity would be Michael
Dubya - would be Tito obviously

Goehmert unwittingly proves the point of why we need separation of church & state.

THIS!

Pretty good but I would go with Briebart for Michael.  Not because he's dead, but because of his love of little boys.

"Do you believe in sharing the good news that will keep people from going to hell, consistent with the Christian beliefs?" Gohmert asked

You're concerned that people will go to hell when they die, yet you don't really care if they live in hell now?

That's some Selective Christianity, by gum.

See, I think of him more as Gohmert Simpson.
Only not as smart as Homer.

"No, not a set of ideas," Gohmert insisted. "Either you believe as a Christian that Jesus is the way, the truth, or life, or you don't."

Yeah! You either believe simple-minded, easily digested claptrap or you go to Hell. It's that simple.

Nuance and reason are the Devil's second and eighth testicles, respectively.

Either you believe meaningless platitudes spewed by non-theologians or you go to hell. Why is this so hard to understand, libs?

I remember all those times that Jesus advocated for government based on religion and specifically his teachings. He was all about forcing people into following him.

HE reminds me of some sort of alternate-reality Michael SCott, where he went into politics instead of the paper business.

"No, not a set of ideas," Gohmert insisted. "Either you believe as a Christian that Jesus is the way, the truth, or life, or you don't."

What in CHOCOLATE COVERED F*CK DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH GOVERNMENT?!?

I certainly hope there is a hell and I get sent there rather than being trapped in heaven with these a$$holes.

Gohmert the Gohmertian, Gohmert the Derpstructor, Moo Goo Dog Pan, the Teapartier has come! Choose and asparagus!

Lynn responded that he wouldn't agree with Gohmert's "construction of what hell is like or why one gets there." When Gohmert pressed him to say whether he believed people "would go to hell if they do not believe Jesus is the way," Lynn again answered that he thinks failing to ascribe to a certain set of Christian beliefs doesn't necessarily doom a person to hell.
"No, not a set of ideas," Gohmert insisted. "Either you believe as a Christian that Jesus is the way, the truth, or life, or you don't."

I feel so pissed of that a discussion like is going on in our legislature building!! It shouldn't the fark matter! It the US government for ALL people no matter who's religion.

Yes, he's Republican.

Remember kids, an all-loving god is perfectly okay with the 4.7Billion people he created into non-christian communities going to hell for all eternity. So love Jesus or else it'll be 4.7Billion and one.

I assume this is his preliminary attempt to justify amending the Constitution to remove the rights of any non-christian.

Fine, but by that logic, I don't think necessarily what makes you a democrat or a republican is adherence to any particular set of beliefs!

Idiot...
