Well, they'll stone you when you're trying to be so good
They'll stone you just like they said they would
They'll stone you when you're tryna go home
Then they'll stone you when you're there all alone

But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

Well, they'll stone you when you're walkin' along the streets
They'll stone you when you're tryna keep your seat
They'll stone you when you're walkin' on the floor
They'll stone you when you're walkin' to the door

But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

They'll stone you when you're at the breakfast table
They'll stone you when you are young and able
They'll stone you when you're tryna make a buck
They'll stone you and then they'll say, "Good luck"

Tell ya what, I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

Well, they'll stone you and say that it's the end
Then they'll stone you and then they'll come back again
They'll stone you when you're riding in your car
They'll stone you when you're playing your guitar

Yes but I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned, alright

Well, they'll stone you when you walk all alone
They'll stone you when you are walkin' home
They'll stone you and then say they all are brave
They'll stone you when you're set down in your grave

But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

Rob Morris must be fu*king new to Oklahoma.

I don't think it's correct to describe him as an "OK GOP candidate."  Because he is definitely not OK.

Yeah, this was my thought as well.

Well, ok. You have my blessing to stone homosexuals who are part of your religion and agree that they should be put to death.

Otherwise, fark off. No one cares about your Canaanite moral code.

"Libertarians" want corporations and the wealthy to have the freedom to control everyone else.

Isn't stoning the go-to punishment for Sharia Law?

Does he realize that it's the EXACT SAME punishment prescribed for working on the Sabbath?

Does he realize that it's the EXACT SAME punishment prescribed for committing adultery (for both parties)?

Does he realize that it's the EXACT SAME punishment prescribed for someone who curses god or either of their parents?

Does he realize that it's the EXACT SAME punishment prescribed for someone who worships "strange" gods, or who convinces others to do the same (like, say a Hellenized/Romanized version of the Jewish god, which itself is derivative of basically the whole gamut of the region's religious beliefs until that point)?

Does he realize that it's the EXACT SAME punishment prescribed for a rebellious child?

// I'm guessing no
// also guessing he'd be OK with several of those
// also guessing he fancies himself the arbiter of what each of those clauses means

I profess to be a hardcore supporter of individual rights, but a ghost told some bronze age shepherds to kill gay people, so you can see where I'm conflicted.

Would be interested in his views on Sharia law.

Subby makes it sound worse.  You are supposed to sandwich the bad news.

Instead of:

OK GOP candidate for the State Legislature is a self-described libertarian who believes in lower taxes, less regulation, smaller government, and of course stoning homosexuals to death-but only based on local or state laws not intrusive federal ones

Try:

OK GOP candidate for the State Legislature is a self-described libertarian who believes in lower taxes, stoning homosexuals to death-but only based on local or state laws not intrusive federal ones, less regulation and smaller government

Much less inflammatory.

On his website, he says he is a conservative who wants to apply biblical principles to Oklahoma law.

But the real danger here is Sharia law, amirite?

Do you realize death by stoning is the prescribed punishment in my religion (The Church of the Wholly Unnecessary Word of Exacting Pedantry) for using the redundancy "exact same"?

libertarianism is all about the rights of the individual so stoning someone to death would only be cool if the person consented to being stoned to death.

Ahh but see doc, Those things are no longer Valid because they are in the Old Testament and because Jesus.  I mean SURE he SAID he wasn't going to change a single sentence of the law, but he didn't  really MEAN that ya see, (but ever word of the Bible is LITERALLY True and inerrant)   so the only stuff in Leviticus that we actually have to follow is something Jesus or one of the Epistle writers also happened to mention.   And Since Paul mentions there was some kinky shiat going on in Nero's court  and some of it was boy-boy   then stoning the Gheys is back on the table   (and the fact that Leviticus actually doesn't say what people think it does, is irrelevant)

gilgigamesh: Now get over here and stand in this hole while I ready my rocks.

HA! Shows how much you know:

The condemned is first pushed off a platform 12' high (pushed from the shoulders, so that they more likely land on their head). If they're still alive, a large boulder is rolled on top of them. If they're STILL alive, they're pelted with large rocks until death.

The idea being to kill them as quickly as possible (severe head trauma, then crushing), using technology common to deserts in the 1st-2nd centuries CE.

// as described by the Talmud
// who also, just by the way, say that any court that carries out more than one death sentence in "70 years" (i.e., once in a generation) is a "bloody" court

Not exactly "functioning", I understand, but it is a principle of sorts.
