The chances of the gravity on other planets being identical to Earth seems iffy.  That would really make interplanetary competition difficult, and that's ignoring the transit time and massive muscular atrophy typical of space travel.

But FIFA... Pluto doesn't even have an atmosphere, temperature, sunlight, infrastructure, gravity or status as a planet to host a World Cup.

Don't worry, they'll build it by 2042... aaaaaaaaand the check cleared!

That's a serious home field advantage. The visiting team has to adjust to the difference in gravity, and possibly the air has a different percentage of oxygen in it. Oh, and the light from the sun is different too, so things might look a little strange.

Nothing worse than a leaky Blatter.

Mars 2030! They've promised to provide an Earth-like atmosphere and to build 8 stadia out of Plutonian rock

Why not? Because it would take centuries to form off-planet colonies that would be able to sustain human life and agriculture, not to mention proper transportation and telecommunications from planet to planet. You goddamned idiots can't even do the biddings right on THIS planet, let alone proposing to spread it to other planets.

Forget impeachment. This idiot needs to be murdered on international TV.

That escalated quickly.

So far, golf is the only sport that has been played on a celestial body other than earth, and it didn't seem to catch on.

If you think the Brits are being a bunch of whinging panty waits about the heat and humidity now, wait until the have to play on a 1.15 gravity field.

Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland ...if anything, they're noting it's quite nice and a bit cloudy.

/England, you dolt.

Referring to this and this.  These guys are as coddled as major league baseball players in the U.S.

/England, you dolt.

???
I'm sorry, I can't tell the difference between the whingers from here.

Statement still stands.  If you think the soccer players are out of sorts are requiring special attention now, wait until they have to deal with a different gravity.

Ah, I should clarify.

Scottish, Welsh, and Northern Irish people are British. They have zero reason to currently complain about what temperature it is in Brazil. As their national teams failed to qualify as one of the 32 finalists. The English, though, can and will complain.

Britain and England aren't the same thing. All English people are British, not all British people are English.
