(The Big Story)   Strip clubs in NY paid strippers to roofie patrons, and run up tens of thousands of dollars on the customers' credit cards. I don't think I want to live in a world where we can't implicitly trust strippers anymore   (bigstory.ap.org ) divider line 8

"The roundup followed an undercover investigation that found that the women joined in a scheme to rip off the men by drugging them with the stimulant methylone, commonly known as "molly,"

Wow that is all types of wrong, M1 is similar in effect but is not molly and is much more dangerous and you also don't forget entire nights on it. Roofies were not even mentioned in the article.

Wettner: "that's what strippers look like these days?"

That's what essentially-former-strippers look like. They're delivering clientele to a club for a finders fee *because* it brings in more money than personally performing. The setup takes as a given that their 'experience' is a liability for a dancer, which necessarily means that fresher faces have displaced them.

Good on them, I say, for finding a career fork that leverages their experience as an asset.

Except for those absolutely morally bankrupt hoes dosing and robbing people.
fark that noise.

anuran: syrynxx: They needed it because they're going to college and need a new car.  Cut 'em some slack.

Chris Rock routines notwithstanding I've known a fair number of students who did strip from Freshmen through Doctoral candidates. It paid better than work-study, and the hours were more flexible.

Personal anecdotes notwithstanding, drugging someone and taking their money is wrong whether you want a new car or a doctorate.

Buddy of mine got cleaned out of 3 grand in one night, roughly a little over a months pay. Never tell the strippers that they can order whatever they want to drink. Several bottles of krystal later he nearly had a heart attack when he got the bill. He had no idea what krystal was, or how much it cost. He's not even sure they drank it. When he was about to throw a fit several large gentlemen surrounded him and started getting pushy until he produced a credit card to pay for it all, then they let him leave. I laughed my ass off when he told me about this, I had heard about this kind of thing in Japan when the yakuza pulls this trick on salarymen but it was the first time I had heard of it happening here in Texas. Hell I worked for a year in strip clubs and never saw the dives I worked at try to pull that shiat (early 90's) and believe me they would have had me in on that kind of crap.

Strip clubs, you will get screwed, but you will never get laid. Unless you work out something for after hours.

This is essentially what the Gold Club in Atlanta got busted for years ago, minus the roofies. Will strip clubs ever learn?

Wettner: Yikes that's what strippers look like these days?

It's pretty disappointing these days. The club around here is full of desperate 30-40 year olds with fat bellies begging to give you $25 lap dances.

I miss the days when a crisp $10 would get you a joyous lap dance from nubile, tattoo free,21 year old twins.

Here's an idea...go meet a real woman that's not a stripper!  It's NYC for crying out loud.

So somebody connected had second thoughts about paying an arm and a leg in the champagne room...
