On occasion, he'll chew the scenery.  His appearance on Homicide is part of the one of the greatest episodes of television ever filmed

I think the exact opposite.

This sounds awful.

I haven't noticed any threads on the upcoming Gotham series. I grew up reading Marvel, but DC seems to do better with TV.

That's because it was predestined to be total shiat. A story about Batman's city....without Batman. You can't make up that kind of incompetence.

Context suggests it was a group of them ("THEY took THEIR turnS"). Fisk took his revenge on their leader.

Given that many actual "scary" people were severely assaulted or killed by fellow prisoners, I'm gonna say that this scene of fiction does not require that much suspension of disbelief.

given that Fisk is supposed to be about 6'7" tall , weigh over 450lbs of near solid muscle, can deadlift about a ton, and has been depicted more than once as crushing a mans skull with his bare hands...I'm going to go with...shiatty writing  and a decent amount of suspension of disbelief.

I want to say something like "the Daredevil film set the bar so low, it would be hard for this take to be worse"...but I don't want to jinx it.

texdent: Maybe it was before he became the Kingpin?

Maybe. I have no idea, that's why I was asking.

Because this is what I think of when I think of Kingpin (from wiki):

The Kingpin has no superhuman powers. However, he is incredibly strong and durable, possessing remarkable strength concealed by his somewhat corpulent appearance. He has been shown to be strong enough to hurl people across a room, rip limbs from people (demonstrated under a handshake), crush a man's skull with his bare hands, leave imprints in concrete walls after punching them.

most of his body mass is actually muscle that has been built to extraordinary size, much like a sumo wrestler and he is almost as strong as it is physically possible for an ordinary human to be. The Kingpin is a master of many forms of armed and unarmed combat,

He once fought Captain America to a standstill in hand to hand combat

That guy does not get handled in the shower by random convict "Big Lucky", so I was wondering what the context was there.

I've never read it, but I always assumed there were enough of them that he couldn't fight it out without leaving most of them as broken human wreckage.  He's in for a few weeks on whatever bullshiat someone managed to make stick, knowing his lawyer will get it overturned by the time all the checks clear.  A dead body or twelve, though, and they've got an ironclad case against him suddenly and he stays put for the rest of his life.

His generation includes Cage, Oldman and Bonham-Carter...

I actually liked the Daredevil movie, although not the theatrical cut.

/Never really "got" the appeal of the Kingpin, though. Organized crime seems small fries even for "street-level" superheroes.

It's the Punisher Max series by Jason Aaron. No superheroes in that universe and tends towards realism (well, as real as comics get). He wasn't the Kingpin at this point, just an up and coming mook. The storyline is about his rise to Kingpin, originally pretending to be the Kingpin to draw out the Punisher but he used Punisher to wipe out the other mob heads and took control.

The MAX series...that explains the sodomy.

If I recall correctly, there was quite a bit of that in Deadpool MAX, as well.

Nothing says "Mature" like trying to appeal to 13-year-old boys who think that is "grown-up stuff"
