And here I expected the story to be about her accidentally picking up a Canadian cell tower and discovering the hard way what Rogers roaming charges are like.

Still not as creepy as the girl who was attacked by a bear and called her mother to tell her goodbye while the bear was still eating her. The call ended when the bear left for a bit and then came back with her cubs to finish eating her.

It was filmed by "Alaska State Troopers".  Enough stupid shiat happens in that state that there's no need to set anything up.  Alaskans can come up with crazy ways to fark themselves up without help.  And, considering there are no more than about 4 sets of state troopers out at any one time, it makes sense that they'd have the camera crew with them.

I would have gone with Viggo Mortensen in Daylight, isn't he brokering a business deal on a headset when the shaft he is climbing collapses or something?

That's not as bad as Shel Silverstein's last poem he wrote down as a snake was eating him.

That's what I was thinking.  Plus I have friends from Alaska that vouch that AST is one of the actual real reality shows.  It's of the few reality shows I'll watch, but only because "police reality" shows really aren't that scripted....or at least they don't seem scripted like all those towing shows...saw the one commercial where the lady was hit by a car and knocked out of the parking garage and didn't want to press charges....complete bs, especially since there was a camera across the street pointing at where she fell from.  Hit me with a car and knock me from a 2nd story parking garage and I'm gonna go all lawyer & insurance on your ass, not get up and do my job...

When there's a single State Trooper for every 200 square miles and a camera crew following around a random Trooper at any given time, if you fark up in Alaska, there's a decent chance it'll make TV.

Just like a woman. Rather talk about a problem than fix it.

Couldn't find it with a quick GIS, but it reminds me of the Far Side cartoon with a scene in a high-rise office with a broken window and tumbled-over chair with the phone operator asking "Will you accept a collect call from a Mr. Aaaaaaaaggggh?"

Does anyone have a link to a story from a  legitimate news source? I'm not saying the Daily Fail makes shiat up, but the Daily Fail makes shiat up, and that story and the report of the conversation read like a hell of a lot of schlock.

Yeah, I, too, was dubious of the Dail Fail source.  A quick search comes up with a lot of references to the story, but they all seem to have Daily Fail as their source, so take it with a brick of salt.

Piton Hammer? Check. No pitons.....
One cam, one wired nut, several 'biners, ......no draws, no rope.....
If the pulley fails...shock load static sling....dead....not such a good back-up...
