(ESPN)   So there is a Game 3. I guess the Spurs and Heat are playing. Here's my lame attempt at a thread because even though the series is great, this submission is lazy (9pm EDT)   (scores.espn.go.com) divider line 322
More: Cool, Miami Heat, spur, homecourt advantages, Manu Ginobili, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, NBA Finals, Erik Spoelstra

Didn't see anything in the queue figured I'd get one in right at game time.

Can we get a farkin thread? It's only the NBA finals, after all.

2014-06-10 09:06:56 PM
Thanks man of pa, was about to submit a thread with an even lazier headline

Palmer Eldritch: Can we get a farkin thread? It's only the NBA finals, after all.

Yea, but it is still the spurs, so no.

If it involves being lazy on fark, I'll be there. Actually thank I_C_Weiner too, because he gave me TF for being talkative in NBA playoff threads so it's all gone full circle

Thanks for putting it in!  Back to ripping Bill Simmons?

2014-06-10 09:13:50 PM
I can't recall a replay in the last two games where Mario Chalmers hasn't been fouling someone.

I'm okay with Simmons. Mind you, he's not a good TV talking head, but I've been reading since his Page 2 days so I'm a mark.

I'm not a fan of the stuff I've read, but his written material is way more likeable than his on-screen personality.

Spurs are just on fire right now.  Heat just needs to keep in close for the time being.

We need to get Pop in this thread and ask him a few questions.

Why is LBJ not driving every play like in game 2?

2014-06-10 09:23:54 PM
And we are green. Let's get some game 2 discussion going. Thoughts from the first 6 minutes?

2014-06-10 09:24:39 PM
I'm such a Simmons mark, I even like him on TV.

2014-06-10 09:26:07 PM
The Lebrun rules?   Let Lebrun do all the scoring so the rest of the team can't get hot.

Fat Diaw is looking good.

James Jones - 2:02 minutes - 3 fouls

Good job, good effort

Ray Allen has been the biggest surprise this postseason.

We all might not see it: According to the Post, it will run in seven major cities during halftime of the game.

They might not have been able to afford national coverage.

It gets lost in the shuffle. Looking back though, that kid completely changed James career. If they blow that series, who knows how we discuss him.

Having Diaw in there is making Popovich look like a genius (again)

2014-06-10 09:39:53 PM
Welp, Leonard paid attention to the pregame media talk.

Manu didn't call bank.

2014-06-10 09:40:07 PM
Turn off the cheat codes, Manu.

2014-06-10 09:40:19 PM
WOW, 41 points in the first quarter. If you have their first quarter and the 4th quarter of game 1, I wonder how many times they would have outscored the Cavs this season.

2014-06-10 09:41:28 PM
Holy shiat SA came to play some ball.  How will they find a way to fark this up?

2014-06-10 09:42:33 PM
This has the appearance of a great game. Spurs are up big early but you know the Heat will make a run to make it close. I'm just glad to see the Spurs offense looking sharp again after how ugly it was at the end of game 2.

Krustofsky: Having Diaw in there is making Popovich look like a genius (again)

Zach Lowe talked about Diaw in the starting lineup during his Finals preview. Basically, this was always going to be Pop's first move, but he had to force the Heat to prove that they could adjust to the Spurs' typical starting lineup first. When they did that, Pop made the change and will feed them a steady diet of Diaw until they figure out how to stop that too.

/possibly the first time "Diaw" and "diet" have been used in the same sentence

2014-06-10 09:43:38 PM
Apparently Miami is pretty upset right now because Eric Cantor's people said they would win the 1st quarter in a blowout.

2014-06-10 09:43:59 PM
Pop was sublime in that interview.  WTF is this nonsense?

2014-06-10 09:44:51 PM
I joked last thread that this was the bizarro Pistons-Spurs series, but man, they are taking that to heart tonight.

I'd probably consider him the same way I do now.  Look at Game 1 - without LeBron, a team that still has Bosh, Wade, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, and Shane Battier could not score for the life of them.  As great as a lot of those players still are (others are smart enough), they looked punchless without LeBron's presence.  That says a lot.

I think he might have felt bad about being a little rough with Doris on Sunday.

Even Splitter is looking good.

Patty Mills on that last 3 - "Why the fark not?!"

2014-06-10 09:46:33 PM
Geez, 16-18 right now and even with Splitter having a made shot waved off.

2014-06-10 09:47:08 PM
Patty Mills is always, always, always going to shoot that pullup three in transition. You have to know your opponent's personnel.

2014-06-10 09:47:09 PM
Well that escalated quickly.

2014-06-10 09:47:55 PM
Spurs move the basketball like it's 1985. Great to watch when it's working right.

16/18 from the field!

Offense with Mills as your primary ballhandler:  "I'ma jack this 3 now!"

Meant it more that after that game, James took over from Wade officially. They went from getting beat down in Dallas to almost losing that Celtics series to James getting the title, then the gold. Right after that game, he went from the guy who still coudn't win it to a downright dominant force. He seems to do that after games that are particularly mocking (such as "cramps") and they played that kid over and over for the two days leading up to the game. Maybe if they don't mock him and instead just go, man, can he do it, he wouldn't have just slaughter the Celtics in games 6-7 and never made the big leap that he did.

Hai guise, what'd I...whuuuuuuut.

2014-06-10 09:51:09 PM
Well, this game appears to be a let down. I thought the Spurs would adjust and win, but I didn't think James would let Miami just forfeit like this

333333, Danny Green

SA +23, 8:55 left in the first half

I hate both these teams but this is hella funny to watch.
