One of them eventually had to be Tasered three times before he would comply with officers' order to get on the ground.

As someone who worked in a family-owned park for 5 years as an undergrad, all I can remember is the park lore on where each employee - based on dept - should screw. Oh, you work in the country fair? Bragging rights for top of the ferris wheel at night. Admissions? Yea, the clock tower. Don't climb the roof when it's slick. Train ride? Yeah, inside the stage coach prop before you hit the main act. Good times.

Back in the day, especially before 9-11 times the Cedar Point employee housing was notorious for some kick ass parties and free flowing substances. Usually by kids named:

Tyler
Austin
Cody
Kaitlyn
Taylor
Britney
etc..

Lawanda sounds like an old lady's name.  I'd have guessed it went out with "Helen", "Mabel" and "Gertrude".

"Emily" made a comeback though, and so shall "Lawanda", apparently.

Nothing about this surprises me.  Many of the Flint and Detroit kids are likely either attending U of M or U of M/Flint, as I was told some work at Cedar Point not for their own income, but to finance their frats.  Also, this isn't the first time I heard of a taser not working very well against someone from MI, usually the bigger guys.  After the third time, he took pity on the officers.

Cedar Point is in Sandusky, Ohio. Flint, Southfield, Ypsilanti etc all within 50 miles of Detroit. Except Youngstown. Somehow an Ohian got mixed in with the Michiganders. So yes, it's employee housing kind of like a college dorm situation.

Elitist or classist? Maybe. Racist? Possibly but not necessarily.

I noticed the names too. Not because "Oh those blacks, always getting in trouble," or something. But because where I grew up only the most ignorant ghetto motherfarkers typically named their kids that shiat. Normal black and white people alike tend to name their kids something a little less stereotypical...

Last year we took the kids for the first time. I couldn't justify waiting in line for 3 hrs (special wristband wearers wait time was 2.25 hrs) to ride the gatekeeper. This year however, I will make it my first ride. /been going to CP every couple of years since around '78.

So, you're admitting that you couldn't find something fun to do for 2 hours at Cedar Point, which is arguably the best amusement park not only in the States, but probably the world..... I mean, i get you were trying to troll, but you just exposed yourself as being rather ignorant.
