Who can line up behind Native Americans.

It's gonna be a long, slow, fruitless line, but they can all line up if they want.

If you'd like to hear a joke about how it won't be fruitless, as there will be bags of oranges, turn to page 75.

If you'd like to hear a "Trail of Tears" joke, turn to page 89.

Only seems fair since the ancestors are the ones currently being pumped out of the hole.

As a descendant of Celtic peoples, I demand that these wait until we have been appropriately compensated by being sacked and occupied by the Romans, the Vikings, and most of all, the English.

If that's how you want to be compensated, someone can probably work something out.

They're not demanding a share.. they're just trying to find out what they're entitled to.

It's not unreasonable to expect the Spaniards to be inquisitive.

As a descendant of people from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Holland, Germany, and the Cherokee nation, I demand reparations from the Spanish for numerous wars, the Holy Roman Empire, missionaries, and of course populating Florida with assholes.

They might have a viable claim in California, but Texas is a tough row to hoe. The existence of the Texas Republic nullifies most colonial claims.

e descendants of holders of Spanish land grants from the 18th Century say they are entitled to their share of the mineral rights from lands which were presented to their ancestors by the Spanish Crown, but were lost, sold, or even stolen in the chaotic days of the Texas Republic.

"My super-great grandfather uh, sold his lands, but now I would really like some of the money back please"

"You think you got it bad. My acestor, Don Flamenco, lost his lands. Like he had no idea where they went. One night, after he polished off his 3rd bottle of tequila, he passed out. When he woke up, he was looking at an entirely different mountian range. It took him 3 years just to figure out he was in Ecuador. How he managed that in one night, I'll never know, but he never did figure out where the hell his lands were. Thought they were somewhere to the left of Dallas, but nothing looked right. He must have spent the last 20 years of his life wandering up and down Texas, but never did find his land again."

Just go to Rome and start loading expensive looking things until you feel paid back. That city has TONS of art; they won't miss it.

FTA:

Farias says the money that should be rightfully the property of the heirs has instead gone to the state.

so, this was money that the oil folk knew was supposed to go somewhere, but just didn't know where, so they escheted it to the state?  if that's the case, that's probably the right thing to do, assuming there is no argument that the money does not belong to the producer.  (otherwise, put it up in concursus/interpleader, if you want to be a little more proactive).  then these spaniards are just trying to argue who should get this money that someone is entitled to.

or, is this some spaniards suing some folk in texas because they want a piece of the pie, despite losing any rights, whether lawfully or not, a few centuries ago?  and, if they lost it unlawfully, i'm pretty sure we have a legal remedy for adverse and uninterrupted possession that's longer than 30 years.

Based on my knowledge of and experience with human psychology, I propose you make this line a real thing and become rich. Getting to the front of the line could become a real-life manifestation of the Oppression Cred battle. People place so much emotional value on that that you would surely be able to monetize it. Charge an admittance fee and use some of the money to buy a microphone and a camera. Set up a live stream to a website that runs advertisements for the oppressed. Whoever's at the front of the line is the only one who gets to talk. Figure out some process by which the oppressed behind the speaker in line may oust the speaker through competition that is lucrative for you.

Shiat, nevermind. That's MSNBC.

That will be a bit hard, since everyone knows that decendants of slaves don't form orderly lines, so much as just form a giant mob at the door.

Maybe us Celts and those Vikings can settle things once and for all....maybe at a place called Clontarf like we have in the past.

I have a hankering for some Viking throat wine......

As a fellow person of Celtic descent, we did start it with Rome, and there are theories that our sacking Rome lead to the mentality to create the Empire.  But I agree, the English owe us big time.

Fortunately for some aboriginals, they signed binding contracts the government must uphold the same as the constitution, called treaties.

Yes, that includes the entire city of Winnipeg.

Seriously, the treatment of natives just goes to show how much Americans deserve the oligarchy police state they have, everything Americans hate about their government they proudly defend when it comes to natives.

You've earned it guys, enjoy it.
