Starting this season, the Jaguars will be showing a constant stream of the NFL Red Zone feed in the four displays in the end zones so fans can watch the Jaguars while keeping up with the rest of the league or tracking their fantasy team.

Awesome.

Chad Johnson, the team's senior vice president of sales, said the team has sold 65 percent of the in-stadium cabanas for the 2014 season.

I started to do an image search for Chad Johnson swim.  Not a good idea if you aren't into the gay pronz.

$150 for party deck access and all you can eat and drink. My quadruple gin and tonics are just shy of $40 each so I call this a huge bargain. I would be very leery of getting in the pool though. The number of pants shiattingly drunk people I see at the games pretty much guarantee that the water is going to be a toxic brew the likes of which would make love canal look like a pure mountain spring.

you do have to go to a Jaguars game though...

/Seems like a lot of work before the inevitable move to LA or London... Unless the pools leak and the stadium is deemed unsafe.

Eh, I'm in the 'this is crap' camp.  I'm not a fan of the huge video screens in stadiums anyway, but I can concede the point that they're nice for the fans in the nosebleed sections to be able to see replays of the action zoomed in.  Showing other games is ridiculous though, leave it to just score updates around the league between quarters.

As far as the pools go, why?  Are you going to the game to have a pool party or to watch football?

Well, they're not going to watch football. That's why they added the pools. Maybe they'll go to have a pool party.

It would be the best pool party of all time. And at $250/ person, for free food, beer and wine, it's a bargain, too.

Perhaps they could use the below to play games that suck more than the game that they are ignoring.  I smell a corporate partnership. . .

Yep. My point exactly and if you skip the pool access it's only $150. So if my math is correct..
ticket-$30ish
Big gulp G&T- 4@$40
Food- $25
Water- 3@$5
Beer- 10@$8
Totals out to $310 so less than half price. I think I'll be going to more games this year.

The only flaw in your argument is that I read it's beer and wine only. So you'd have to down a couple of bottles of red to make up for your quad gin & tonics

It's BECAUSE this is Jacksonville that makes this doable. Now I have a reason to visit this shiathole

There is an easier solution to the attendance problem.

"Jaguars to have poolside cabanas"

I read that as cannabis.

2014-06-10 10:04:22 AM
I'd rather sit in my own bathtub eating overly spicy wings, drinking PBR and farting until I get that jacuzzi effect while I watch NFL Red Zone on the tv in the living room via a reflection in the hall mirror than go to a Jaguars game.

2014-06-10 11:58:48 AM
Today I learned that a cabana is a specific thing, not just the name of a place. Yay Fark.

The Jags will charge fans only $10 to get into games....and $1000 to let them go home.
