There's some really good food around Lafayette

So... Is it really that bad?  Is this a case of somebody fired for saying out loud what everyone else in the area was thinking?

Seems to be a pattern going on....say something stupid, get fired. Say something stupid, get fired. Say something stupid, get fired.

People should really stop saying stupid things.

No, its not that bad at all.  Its Cajun country.  You kinda have to know what you're getting into... its quiet, and should be relaxing.  Most everyone is friendly.  I've always lived in big-ish cities, but I've been most everywhere in the US.  Cajun country is by far the most relaxing place I've been.

No idea what would have set this dude off.  I've heard people rail on Detroit, Jacksonville, etc.  I've had bad experiences in Denver and Nashville.  (Though as a tourist it wouldn't be fair for me to rail on the entire city, I just didn't get it personally).  But a quaint Cajun town... its not hard to have a good time.  You're not going to find loud clubs and all the other stuff you get in big cities... but you should kinda know that going in.

I've met plenty of Ragin' Cajuns. They're good people, and that's God's country.

Apparently, Columbus, MS is home to the Mississippi University for Women, which is apparently a co-ed school, and has been one since 1982.  The real WTF is that it seems that they tried to change the name to something more fitting, but the state overruled them.

One thing you can say about Lafayette:

At least it's not Alexandria.

Laffayette is a nice, small city. I don't really want to live there, but I'm a city kid. There's lots of good food and a decent state university. It's a nice place

I watched some of the NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals. The Raging Cajun's had some of the most enthusiastic fans who filled the stadium both inside and outside and jubilantly supported their team. A college town, and one which loves their home team, plus no doubt great Cajun food. Hey guy. Can't be too bad of a town I

I loved their stadium. UL-L was one of the most explosive offenses in college baseball this year... and just ran out of gas. This is my first year really following the baseball post season, more than just Omaha, and it makes me realize how hard it is to win a National Championship.

Mrs. Meh and I, both Ole Miss alums, watched the Super Regionals, and I salute UL-Lafayette for a great series and a great season. Besides, any school that produces Johnathan Lucroy can't be all bad. Having said that:
HOTTY TODDY!

Lived in Lafayette for a few years and married a cajun (USL) woman. Too hot for me, but a great place to visit.
