A treasure trove of salumi at Trou Normand

Is that salumi in your trou or are you just happy to see me?

It's hard to take a disease seriously when it has "swagger" in the name

And here's a great example of copy-editors sucking.

Article: "Called the Cerebral Palsy Swagger, the trek's goal is to raise awareness for the muscle disorder"

When I went to scout camp [1], they did an overnight hike without any tents [2].  One year, it decided to start raining pretty hard, so we decided to head back to the main camping area.  Since hypothermia hits those with largest surface-to-volume ratios first, there was a little guy about 30kg that was suffering pretty severely.  Being big for my age (190cm at 12yo), I ended up carrying him back  to camp; probably wasn't quite a mile, but had a good hill in there (and in the dark + rain).

Heh.  A few years later, I went camping with a friend and the two of us met up with two cute girls.  One of them jokingly complained about being tired on a hike, so I ended up carrying her back to the campsite.  Not a bad time...

[1] BSA, before they became narrow-minded assholes, or at least before I was aware of what narrow-minded assholes they were -- we're talking mid-1980s here.

[2] Sounds a bit insane, but this meant that everyone could do the overnight hike regardless of whether they had a proper hiking backpack, lightweight stove, etc.

Cool, I was worried everyone would be distracted by Munmun Dutta, and forget about Robert Sheckley.

He's gonna make it. One day, back when I was 29, I walked the 50 miles from San Francisco to San Jose. From like 4am to midnight. I wasn't particularly athletic like hero-brother, but I also didn't carry a 50 pound brother. Is he planning a one-day, or a 20+20?

Sail The Wide Accountancy: Is it me, or is Bran starting to get kind of big? If this show goes on for another 4 years, those two are going to look silly.

I think that's why, on the show they usually show Hodor pushing Bran around in a wheelbarrow rather than carrying him on his back like he did in the books.
