Aquapope: I hope he does Carl reading Pale Blue Dot with new graphics, photography, etc.
Flying Lasagna Monster: Just a friendly reminder that there was 4 Voyager probes planned, but Nixon cut the last two from the budget.
aedude01: Boloxor the Insipid: Cosmos BLOWS. It is not science, it is cargo-cult science as religion. Tyson even dresses a priest.Don't agree with this? Then you may not even know what science really is! Scientific American, New scientist, Bill Nye, Nova, whatever, this is all pop-science, but pop-science is not science.I took an image of the first match google gave me for 'quatum physics homework'. This is what it looks like:[i.imgur.com image 705x817]All that jibjab and special effects in these programs and magazine are bunkum for people who haven't a clue.Who crapped in your Cheerios?

mark12A: Sorry kids, not feeling it. It's lovely plea, "Can't we all just get along?" "it's the only home we got..etc."But it's just a lament. The Scienticians love to whine about the inhumanity of man, but don't seem to have any ideas on how to resolve the struggle of freedom against tyranny. Bleeding for freedom is just so icky....
Pariah.: So...spotted another version of the TF Cosmos header image. Randomly appears.[i.imgur.com image 354x194]
dugitman: look for an occasional variant logo of that too. -snert-
Pariah.: Trying this image link again....[i.imgur.com image 357x192]
mark12A: Sorry Neil, I consider Dark Matter to be Theology. "It's there, trust us. Can't see it, can't show you any, but it's there" Sorta like heaven, I guess.
geom_00: So...on August 1st, we finally find out what the Fox says??
chicken_little: I must be hitting some wrong buttons. Definitely don't mean to do anything nice for anyone. ;)
mark12A: It's not been that good a series. Kinda light on the production values, and he jumped around a lot. Not a good narrative flow at all. The commercials were the final nail in the coffin. A noble effort, but something like this really belongs on PBS.Last week was frustrating. Made some nice clear points about global warming, but didn't close the sale. You do NOT make a statement like "global warming is increasing the number and severity of storms" without backing it up with some data. There is no clear data showing that yet. We're coming off some quiet hurricane and tornado seasons. People are going to throw that in your face. He needed to make a complete airtight case, and didn't . And he was SO close. He talked about the carbon balance, good, killed the volcano argument the deniers use, but did NOT address how much CO2 the biosphere throws into the air. He needed to address that, because deniers will bring it up. Frustrating.
BeerBear: final episode :( now what show we going use going to use to drink?
