At least we didn't launch Voyager 6.

aedude01: Boloxor the Insipid: Cosmos BLOWS.  It is not science, it is cargo-cult science as religion.  Tyson even dresses a priest.

Don't agree with this? Then you may not even know what science really is!  Scientific American, New scientist, Bill Nye, Nova, whatever, this is all pop-science, but pop-science is not science.

I took an image of the first match google gave me for 'quatum physics homework'.  This is what it looks like:

All that jibjab and special effects in these programs and magazine are bunkum for people who haven't a clue.

Don't want to alarm anyone but pretty sure that's a weeping angel on the other side of the pillar he's leaning on.

No, "dark matter" and "dark energy" is just NdGT claiming the biggest/most powerful things in cosmology for the black man.

mark12A: Sorry kids, not feeling it. It's lovely plea, "Can't we all just get along?" "it's the only home we got..etc."

But it's just a lament. The Scienticians love to whine about the inhumanity of man, but don't seem to have any ideas on how to resolve the struggle of freedom against tyranny. Bleeding for freedom is just so icky....

That the best you've got? Pitiful.

mark12A: Sorry Neil, I consider Dark Matter to be Theology. "It's there, trust us. Can't see it, can't show you any, but it's there" Sorta like heaven, I guess.

Neil pointed out that the term "dark" matter or energy is a reference to our ignorance.

It must hurt to be that dumb. At least, dear God, I hope it does.

Do you feel the same way about gravity? Cause we've never seen gravity. Ever. All we have are the effects of it. But gravity itself alone? Despite a lot of time and money so far no one has observed it by itself.

mark12A: It's not been that good a series. Kinda light on the production values, and he jumped around a lot. Not a good narrative flow at all. The commercials were the final nail in the coffin. A noble effort, but something like this really belongs on PBS.

Last week was frustrating. Made some nice clear points about global warming, but didn't close the sale. You do NOT make a statement like "global warming is increasing the number and severity of storms" without backing it up with some data. There is no clear data showing that yet. We're coming off some quiet hurricane and tornado seasons. People are going to throw that in your face. He needed to make a complete airtight case, and didn't . And he was SO close. He talked about the carbon balance, good, killed the volcano argument the deniers use, but did NOT address how much CO2 the biosphere throws into the air. He needed to address that, because deniers will bring it up. Frustrating.
