Why is the Weather Channel going "Idiocracy" on us?

Derpy headline aside, it's a mildly interesting travelogue piece. Although I suspect the Chinese named it 'the gate to heaven' less for it's biblical connotation than the fact it resembles a huge stone vagina.

Media discovered that appealing to the lowest common denominator gets the views and cash. It's gotten to the point that you gotta have dumb shiat on to stay in business. Methods of media farked the audience, and the audience will fark the methods of media.

Somehow that's supposed to be a Falcon's statue, but I keep expecting an oddly haired guy to jump up and tell me he can't say its aliens but its aliens

At 0:40 he says the cable tram is a "twenty four thousand foot lift".   That's like 4.5 miles.  I think he meant twenty four hundred.  Big difference.  Dipshiat.

It's 24000+ feet long, with about a 4000 foot lift.  So yeah, he'd be wrong.

To all the thousands of people who spent thousands of dollars and risked their and their families lives...congratulations, you did all that to see a hole in a wall of rock. You have reached the pinnacle of stupidity, please exit the earth.

It's a lift, that's 24,459 feet long. One of the longest passenger cable lifts anywhere.

Yeah, f*ck those people for going slightly out of their way to visit a World Heritage site with millennia of history, unusual natural features, etc. Because cable cars are scary, or something.
