Why would HuffPo accept an article wherein someone refuses the victim storyline and actually does something to solve a problem without the government stepping in?

Or maybe it's meant for outside use, so his wife could go camping with him.....

We got enough jackasses in this country who would think blowing $15k on one of these things extended to them the privilege to use them in everyday situations and scream to the high heavens that since they are disabled then they must be accommodated.

please keep in mind that I am attaching my rant to the types of folks who swamp boats at Disneyland with their mobility scooters and people who would strap a service animal vest to a chihuahua because feelings.

there are plenty of very good and valid reasons for this thing to exist. I just don't want to see some camo draped fat ass at the mall screaming that his rights are being violated because he can't fit his personal freedom tank through the front door or maneuver safely around the store.

Jesus Christ are you complaining about handicapped people?  Did someone run over your foot at the mall?

I just re-upped my TF and in a fit of generosity sponsored 2 farkers a month of TF....BOOM! Three green lights in a row. They weren't even that great or clever headlines.

However this cool story is shared, I guess.

well, I though I was joining the usual fark chorus of biatching about fat people in hov-arounds and non-sensible service animals claiming disability rights, but it seems that either my verbage was off or everyone else's snark filter is defective.

I get the snark towards the fatasses and their perceived need for Rascals and such.  My snark towards them was overridden in this thread by the awesomeness that was a man that worked that long on something purely out of love, and made it happen.

Yes, I am a softie at heart.

As am I... I was too harsh and vague in my initial post. and for that.. I apologize to the fark community

My snark still stands, and as much as I applaud this gentleman's contribution to society. I just don't want people o take advantage of his gift to the world.

I really do believe that the people that could really use such a device wouldn't abuse it, but I fear that there are people in the world who would, and ruin it for everyone else in the process..

shiat.. I should've just posted the meme pic and said "its all well and good until one of these assholes get a hold of it."

"Her exact words were, 'Go on without me.' I find that unacceptable, so I told her I would build her something. It took me two years and a bunch of beer in my garage to figure out the first model, but since then -- with now my applied science -- we've been making leaps and bounds."

well, with that question, I'm reminded of a somewhat simualr situation that was presented in the documentry about the set up and framing of Roger Rabbit. he wasn't able to work on the falicy until it the result was comical.
