"Dude, like why are we even racing?"

I smoked mass quantities for ~12 years and we have 5 healthy kids with little effort. Granted I stopped smoking before going the family route, so that may factor.

Ha! Actually, doctors don't let you go past five c-sections. She had one emergency C, followed by a second emergency C during VBAC. They also don't let you try VBAC a second time. I couldn't ask her to have another child after the first and watching her get split open. She made the choice to continue because she wanted a large family. Incredible woman she is.

And now I know what imagery I'll be trying to forget while getting plastered tonight. Hoping she's doing well these days.

All of the lifestyle information was self-reported, and researchers made no attempt to confirm accuracy.

Well. I'm sure this study is incredibly accurate.

All of the lifestyle information was self-reported, and researchers made no attempt to confirm accuracy. Of those men, 318 produced abnormal sperm, where less than 4% of it was the correct size and shape (as defined by the World Health Organization). The remaining men's sperm had a higher percentage at a "normal" size and shape.

Do you guys want to know something that is rarely discussed? The standards for "fertility" in men are a joke. A ton of men that are technically infertile have no problems fathering children. I learned this after getting tested and being told that I was infertile. That was a pretty emotional hit until I read up on the standards. Well that and the fact that my actually did knock my wife up a couple weeks later. On our second kid she got pregnant the first month we tried.

IIR the issue was that my percentage of normal sperm was low, something like half the normal percentage, but the total number of my guys was twice the normal amount. I suppose fertility doctors aren't good at math because that translates to the correct amount of normal sperm.

They still call men who can't have babies "infertile".

Weed is not an effective form of birth control kids.

Yeah but weed makes doing it way more likely and more pleasurable so it evens out.

There are men out there that can carry a baby to term? I thought that was just a bad Schwarzenneger/Devito movie I've spent years avoiding seeing.

/sad that so many medical professionals use that term to reference invirile men

Probably a good thing given the girl I used to live with who had the whole house pine-scented half an hour before I got home.

/ amazingly enough, in the 20+ years since I broke up with her I've had zero urge to smoke pot.

It is a perfectly valid descriptor here. "Virile" is a broad term that means way more than just "can make babies".

They keep cranking out this anti-pot stuff that is equally applicable to alcohol. I'm pretty sure we learned to not try Prohibition again.

Bullsh*t.

"All of the lifestyle information was self-reported, and researchers made no attempt to confirm accuracy."

There would have to be a more detailed and comprehensive study to determine if this is actually true or not. This is propaganda more than anything else... Talk about bad science.

Further, there are many different types of cannabis smokers. What about smokers that use well-filtered smoking apparatuses such as percolator bongs and vaporizers, as opposed to people smoking joints, blunts and pipes? Is their sperm activity the exact same? What about people that only consume edibles are cannabis oil?

Cough... Bullsh*t... Cough...  Cough...
