"No, but I will freely give you a little bit - all I can spare really as you see I don't have any measurable quantity on my person."

I'm just wondering, do you f*ckers who attack the left's enemies in EVERY SINGLE THREAD get paid for your work? There's always one of you people (or maybe the same person) making some tenious connection between every greenlit article and how horrible non-leftist are.

Now, I don't honestly expect you to confess, I expect you to continue to attack. When your messiah has failed you so, there can be no defense.

By the way, I don't give a sh*t if someone wants to smoke some weed, as long as they stay away from heavy machinery. The war on drugs is a full employment program for police sorts and has turned into a license for those police agencies to steal whatever they can from anyone they can under 'civil forfeiture' laws.

It's nice to see our "heroes in blue" tackling the most important issues of our cities. Thank GOD they get paid overtime to hassle a couple of hippies enjoying a little mother nature.

I mean... now that all crimes with actual victims have been stopped this is the next logical step. Maybe after this they can head down to the high school and crack the skulls of any kids who jaywalk on their way home.

It really is mind blowing. Don't these cops have any real police work to do?

If this is the only police work that needs doing I take it as proof that they are WAY over staffed.

Seriously? This is what our tax dollars are funding? Paying overtime to officers to bust some dude with less than an ounce of pot who was nice enough to offer some free, and was not selling it? There are no major crimes out there that need investigation, or other important things this money could go do instead of farking with a harmless person just enjoying life and not bothering anyone?

/Seriously, the officers time and our tax dollars could have been better spent.

Crime is a business in CA, arresting illegals just sends them to immigration for deportation so no revenue for the prison system. They want to focus on keeping folks in jail and making $ hence working to entrap low level weed dealers. Notice how the officer "got agitated" when the guy would not sell him anything to entice a transaction.

They fined him $25 for possession? Damn, I thought the fine for possession was more like $100. A parking ticket in San Francisco will set you back at least $50. But since he spent four days in jail, they shouldn't have fined him at all.

I believe that every single candidate in the 2012 GOP primary referred to a sitting President as "a Kenyan" at some point, every one. At a State of the Union Address, Joe Barton interrupted it with "You Lie". Mitch McConnell said yesterday that he wouldn't approve a highly qualified candidate because she would follow the law. Raphael "Ted" Cruz had the gvmt. shut down in a politcal version of "I'm taking my football and going home", costing untold billions.

If you're looking for respect, stop voting for people who don't give any. When you listen to Rush say "Magic Negro" or call college girls "sluts" for having different opinions about birth control. don't expect a lot of respect here or anywhere else. When Wiener was pressured out of Congress by his own party, David "Diaperboy" Vitter kept his gig while his party said "let's get Wiener!". When you support people that think Jebus had a pet dinosaur and science is crazy talk, don't look for respect. When a state GOP primary divides on which candidate hates gays more, well, you know the answer, Mr. Rodney Dangerfield: No Respect.

Since the policeman were the one who asked to purchase the pot, wouldn't it still be entrapment even if that hippie dude had sold it to him?

Not really.  It's California, the maximum fine for less than an ounce is $100, it's considered an infraction, not even a misdemeanor.  This guy got a $25 fine.

The cops don't really even try to hand out possession tickets.  The seller has reason to worry.  And apparently the nice guy giving a bit away has to worry too, though this smackdown to the cops may help.

spawn73: Since the policeman were the one who asked to purchase the pot, wouldn't it still be entrapment even if that hippie dude had sold it to him?

Depends on how much asking the cop had to do.  Entrapment is generally when the cops convince someone to do something criminal that they ordinarily wouldn't do.  With what we've heard about this guy, it probably would have been.

If the cop goes up to somebody on the street and asks to buy and is met with an immediate offer to sell, it's probably not entrapment.  If the cop has to do some convincing, it probably is.

Nope, I have a friend who got 3 years in jail because she thought she was doing a stoner a favor and hooked him with a bag of weed. the cop initiated the whole thing.

Just once, I would like to see a jury acquit, then mob beat the lying pig into a puddle right outside the courthouse with the media watching. Then film the jury foreperson saying, "justice had to be served"

those are just isolated incidents, mostly by overzealous staffers.  stop your cherrypicking and strawman arguments.  Rush doesn't have any influence on the GOP, so I don't know why you list him in your argument; it would be just like me saying Mr. Maddow is single-handedly responsible for preventing all the pro-choice laws being blocked or overturned.  None of those resulted in any loss of life unlike Benghazi.

No, it went straight over your head.

There aren't many liberal cops, it's a job that attracts authoritarians, and in this country those are almost universally RWNJs.

And in this country, the cops have very little political oversight.  Their jobs are protected, usually even if they commit crimes, they only take orders from other cops, and they can take fed money on their own in many cases, without approval from anyone but other cops.  They even steal money to perpetuate their operations.
