"Limitless"? Dunno. And I'm not sure anyone could answer your question since I don't think anybody saw it.

I thought "Mech" was trademarked by the guys who owned "Robotech."

Looks like a whole bunch of unoriginal ideas rolled into one.  Will he run and jump from skyscraper to skyscraper using his super-robot powers while being chased?   And punch more motorcycles and buses so they fly 37 feet into the air?  And will there be a secretive shadow agency after him? And will his love interest, who is the only one who understands him, be snatched up by the shadow agency? will he get revenge against the chief bad dude?  And will...
oh fark it, done.  looks derivative.   pass

Can we stop screwing around and finally just make Blood Music?

That looks awesome, but I'm sure Hollywood will ruin it by making it a 90 minute movie with 85 minutes of walking around all normal and confused and only 5 minutes of cyborg awesomeness.

Cyberpunk uses Humanity.

Shadowrun uses Essence.

But, I agree.  As he talked about feeling different, I thought of how Cyberpsychosis was described.

Yeah, that.

Thanks, but I'll skip on a 90-minute film about a one-paragraph RPG mechanic.  i'll go watch Robocop again instead or something.

// The good one, not the new one.

I hope he's paid his licensing fees to Warren Ellis. First thing I thought of was the tech junkies from Transmetropolitan.

Hell, I want to go watch it anyways.

I'm a sucker for trailers (when will I learn???), but yeah I thought it was pretty cool too.  If they can avoid some of the tired and worn out tropes and make it fresh and original but keep enough of them in to stay true to the genre, then it might sell some popcorn.  It piqued my interest enough that I'll go see it when (if) it comes out in theaters.

Mechwarrior movie please. Make it the same as Pacific Rim. Light easy plot that doesn't try so hard (and can't fail) decent actors and dialogue and lots of BIG ROBOT GO BOOM.

We haven't had any really really good robo-class warfare movies, I'm speaking technology and sheer mass thresholds of all and in between. Like a beginning 'clone war' involving walking battleships in third world central, whom also control the sky through being able to 'shoot down' asteroids in the asteroid belt for 'artillery' support because of how long the war/s wage. Zombie hive carrier/garbage chief/gore-beige fleet-laser-hologram-vertex-hub/"political abduction" finishes for the halting grind, burnt to the ground and rolled across into a flat venusian planetoid as commercial CD 'mineral threshers' roll across the scorched earth, flaring up some sort of portal tail hive every time they hit certain channels in the erosion pattern just because we liked lookouts and upper pylons of the geological chain, before poop-looping into superman-carnage-greygoo, the nanobot mage as a diversion for pacman-pulsar and the intro to the next tron series.

God no, at least not the same as Pacific Rim part....that movie was awful.  See thru plot, decent actors (when they're on their respected TV shows), dialog was like watching the Godzilla French Legion scene for an entire movie...

That's why it was good though. They knew it couldn't be the next Citizen Kane, so they didn't try all that hard. It's worse when movies think they have a clever plot but don't.

I'm just trying to make the special effect prices match their time-value... Oh wait you were probably talking about the Pacific. It just matched my mental imagery... I think my idea would probably cause hive-seizures, and certain adverts would cause people to start studdering and blinking something about spanish inquiries into formerly sealed records. Then everyone walks funny because they have health shoes.

That was the whole point. It was a jillion-dollar B-movie, based on a pastiche of a bunch of kids' cartoons.

You watched it sober, didn't you? You're not supposed to watch it sober.

batlock666: Tetsuo: The Iron Man

Tetsuo 2: Body Hammer

Not having seen Tesuo 2

but tetsuo the iron man was a little different then the plot to this

also drugs being used to merge man and machine aren't new stories, there's a short story where the one taboo left is sexing a machine, doing so alters you
i'm amazed that the anthology about sci fi sex made it into my highschool library
glad it did, just amazed

No, it wasn't. And Limitless was a good film. If you didn't see it, you should. This plot premise has more in common with Transcendence (the physical and ethical risks of Nanite technology), than it does with Limitless. The only real similarity between this short and Limitless was the lead character doing drugs.
