Not nearly as good as the Brazilian elevator prank, but still, pretty good.  Would be curious how many were filmed that didn't react enough to be edited in.  Owlman?

I'm not going to lie...that seems like an easy way to have a little girl get the shiat kicked out of her.

Wolf892: I've always wanted to make a really good mask of the classic "Grey" alien. Big black eyes, smooth skin and tiny mouth, then throw on a black turtle neck and stand outside of peoples windows at night waiting for them to catch a glimpse of me.
Being that this is Canada I have a much better chance of hearing some quality screams without having to catch a bullet in the face for it.

Make sure to get a good video/audio recording.

I'm sorry, but having spent my youth exploring dark places, I'd LAUGH if I saw that ridiculous man in an owl mask.

The worst thing I stumbled upon was a group of people performing a ritual I was not meant to witness. That was a bad day in my life. Thank goodness I don't actually remember most of the details (long story, mental block involved.)

That's why I'd laugh. It would only be creepy if he were with a group of similarly-clad folks in a room with an altar.

Creepy costume...but many people thinking they're alone would jump initially.  I'm more curious to know if people recovered enough from their initial reaction to say, "Well-played sir, nice outfit."

Faced with that kind of situation, you may not think that you're actually faced with a giant owl/human hybrid, but there's a good chance you'd think that you were faced with a potentially murderous insane person in a mask.

If you really want to get some quality screams get two other friends to also wear the same alien outfit, stand around the victim's bed at 3am staring silently down at them, and wake them up. It'd totally be worth the breaking and entering plus whatever other charges will be filed.

Here in the US, I think I'd probably go with brightly colored full-body protective suits (the nuclear / biological / chemical type).  Basic ones are under $15 each, and respirators are cheap.  Fancy fully-encapsulated ones with big huge face visors are under $150 each.  Get some friends together and for the price of a good meal, you can suit up, go somewhere crowded, and scare the shiat out of a lot of people.

Nobody'll shoot you, because clearly you're  on their side, as  authorities responding to something unspeakably horrible. Take along some random gizmos that make noises when you point them close to things, and tell anyone who asks that there's been an unobtanium leak, eddies in the time-space continuum (and this is his sofa), the invisible woman has escaped, psychic something-or-other, alien spotting, whatever... perhaps best done around Halloween or April Fool's.

I'm guessing that the owl-man thing triggered some kind of trauma from the guy's past. Either a stranger danger situation, or an animal attack, or being abandoned and feeling helpless somewhere as a child... Seeing the creature just sparked his brain to go into full on panic meltdown. He wasn't just sobbing, he was ready to curl up into the fetal position.
That guy pretty much seemed to expect to die and acted accordingly.

Just my guess though.

What was up with the turtleneck?  Why were aliens always wearing black, ribbed turtlenecks like some kind of intergalactic beatniks?

That would be my reaction, I think.  After the initial shock of seeing something moving in a space that is supposed to be "abandoned," I wouldn't think that I was actually looking at an anthropomorphic owl demon.  I'd be more afraid of the human inside the owl costume.  Like mascots, or clowns.

I want quality screams, not well justified ones. Those aren't fun, those are hurtful.

Just skip the anal probing and they'll be fine after a few years of intensive therapy. Probably.

I really don't see how that costume would be frightening. It's creepy, sure, but unless you add in some unearthly noises and odd body movements, I'm going to assume that it is a guy in a suit after the initial surprise.

You know, I think the video was pretty stupid.  The first guy looked like he could potentially fark you up, The guy that went down sobbing may be coping with mental health issues, and these guys just farked him up again... The teenagers... Ok, at least you have a reasonable expectation that they are not going to drop of a heart attack.... Fark it, I would sue the shat out of them.

Sure, I would assume the same thing:  a guy, in an owl head and tattered suit, hanging around alone inside of an abandoned hospital in the middle of the night.

What's frightening about that?

I've been in abandoned buildings in Detroit and have seen something like this:

...As I approached a corner. I did not advance.

So yeah, I'm pretty sure an owl mask wouldn't scare me as much as a reality-based horror (like the one above) did.
